~~~~~~~~~~~~I woke up to the smell of pancakes and bacon. I propped my body up with my elbows and removed the white blanket that covered my body.
I checked the time: 9:30. I slipped on my pink Hollister flip flops from the side of my bed and walked out of my room.
I walked down the grand staircase and followed the same path Connor showed me last night, into the kitchen.
There, I saw Aunt Julie sitting in her robe, lazily drinking her cup of hot coffee.
"Morning, sweetheart." she said when she saw me.
"Morning." I replied.I took the seat next to her and was handed a full plate of pancakes garnished with chopped strawberries, drenched in syrup by Monte, the house chef.
"Thanks, Monte, but I'm not really hungry right now." I said.
"Nonsense!" said Aunt Julie, "You must eat! Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Besides, we have a long day ahead of us. I canceled my entire schedule today for the two of us to tour your new school!" she said enthusiastically.
"Really?" I asked, wide eyed.
"Yes, darling. Now. Eat, get dressed in some professional clothing because we have a meeting with the headmistress, and we will be off!" she said smiling.
"Thank you, thank you!" I squealed.
I know I probably shouldn't be as happy as I am now, but there's a very reasonable explanation.
Two words. The headmistress!
The headmistress Mrs. SaintClaire Avalor is the hardest to reach person I have ever heard of, besides the president of course. Well, him and also God. Mrs. Avalor is incredibly busy. She owns private jets, runs Lakelen Athletic Academy, and on top of that, is 65 years old.
I cannot even fathom how Aunt Julie was able to fit me of all people, into Mrs. Avalor's tight schedule.
After finishing my pancakes, I hopped up the stairs, taking two at a time. Once inside my bedroom, I walked into my en suite bathroom. Inside, I took a long shower and shampooed my hair with my green apple shampoo.
I stepped out of the shower and quickly brushed my teeth before applying some moisturizer. After, I blowdried my hair until it was completely dry and straight. I went on to apply some make up. I applied concealer, gold eyeshadow, black eyeliner, a few coats of mascara, and a pink lip gloss.
I picked my outfit from my suitcase by my window which held my dressier clothing. I chose a baby pink blazer and a sheer black mermaid style top.
With it, I wore my baby pink skinny jeans and my moms gold leaf earrings. I paired them with my moms black platform heels and my moms black clutch embroidered with pearls at the top. I threw them on, making sure I didn't smudge my makeup.
I carefully walked down my stairs, hoping not to trip in my six inch heels.
I sucessfully made it down and trotted over to the living room by the stairs. Connie and Chrissy were playing Grand Theft Auto. I walked in and both boys greeted me without looking up.
"What's so great about this game anyways?" I asked, plopping down on the couch.
"Deli, you did not just ask that." Connor said with a look of disgust.
"Uhm yeah I did. It's dumb. And Connie, you're 20 years old. You should be out clubbing, not making love with you television screen." I pointed out.
"Says you, booger. You eat, breath, live skating." he said.
I rolled my eyes and whipped out my phone. I had been texting Lex the the whole night. She wanted to know how big Aunt Julie's house was, and boy was it big.
It included an indoor swimming pool, a gym, dance studio, tennis courts, basketballs courts, an arcade, a movie theater, 16 bedrooms with en suites, a basement/lounge area, and a bar in almost all the rooms.
Aunt Julie's voice snapped me out of my train of thought.
"Ready to go, Del?" she asked.
I responded with a smile and a nod before bidding the boys a farewell and following Aunt Julie out the door and into..a limo? My jaw dropped to the floor at the sight of it and my eyes grew eight times its natural size.I, Delfena Acacia Conroy am riding in a limo, to tour a school, that my mother attended, to meet the principal, whom I picture as one of my idols.
I slid into the limo after Aunt Julie. After a brief 15 minute drive, we pulled up in front of the cobblestone buildings. Crowds of people stared while jogging past.
~~
We were led to the headmistress' office. I have to admit, I was a bit nervous, but also excited.
After a few moments of waiting, she walked in, a mug and a few papers in hand.
"Ah! You must be Delfena Conroy. Nice to meet you, I've heard so much about you." she said with a grin.
She stuck her hand out as I did the same.
She toured us around the school. We were able to see all the training facilities and I was able to visit the skating rinks. I could feel my eyes tear up. If only she could see me now, I thought.
~~
After having lunch with the headmistress, we drove home in the limo. When we walked out of the car, Aunt Julie scarf blew away in the wind and landed in the next door neighbor's yard where a boy my age was playing outside with his little brother.
How adorable, I thought. Instead of making Aunt Julie get her scarf back, I decided to get it for her.
I trudged up the hill in front of their house and approached the laughing little boy and his brother.
"Hi! Do you both live here?" I asked.
"Yeah, did you need something?" the older boy said.
"Actually, my aunts scarf was blown into your yard by the wind, do you mind if I go through the gate and get it or wou-"
I was cut of my the little boy
"Hi! I'm Jeffery!" he said with a wide smile.
"Hi, Jeffery!" I said enthusiastically, "I'm Delfena!"
The older boy chuckled and stared at the ground. I took a moment to make out his features.He had a strong jawline, his brown hair was gelled back to make a quiff. He was wearing a black t-shirt and a pair of dark wash jeans. He was pretty attractive and his tight shirt really outlines his muscles.
"Hello?" the older boy said, waving a hand in my face as I studied his.
"Oh! Right, sorry. I just..never mind" I stuttered.
"Can I go and get my scarf. Or, rather, my aunts?" I asked again.
He nodded and gave me a smile, a smile that make me go weak at the knees. I had to catch myself, or me and my six inch heels would get it. I should've been thinking about not tripping, but all I could think about was that smile.~~~~~~~~~~~
