The alarm clock Aunt Julie bought for me went off meaning that it was 7:00 and I needed to get out of bed. Today is my first official day of school at Lakelen Academy and I couldn't be any more excited.
I slipped on my pink flip flops and skipped down the stairs for breakfast. When I walked into the kitchen, I was greeted by the house staff who were gathered around the breakfast table having their first meal of the day before working.
Around the table sat the three housekeepers: Elena, Maria, and Cora along with Jason the Driver and Maggie, Aunt Julie's personal assistant. Behind the stove stood Monte, making bacon and eggs.
"Morning, all!" I said in a peppy voice.
I walked over to the refrigerator and flung it open, reaching behind all the condiments to find the carton of orange juice I saw Monte load into the refrigerator yesterday.Monte handed me a tall glass and I filled it to the middle.
"Monte, will you please make me a yogurt parfait?" I asked.
"Of course, Delfena!" he said.
"Thank you! I'll be back for it after I get ready, Monte!" I said grabbing my juice and walking out and up the stairs.
I quickly brushed my teeth and heated up my curling iron, placing it aside to apply my makeup. I applied concealer, a bit of eyeliner, a few coats of mascara, and my Baby Lips lip balm. After I knew my curling wand was heated, I combed out my hair and parted it, before wrapping different sections of it onto the barrel of the wand, causing big, bouncy curls to become of it.
I walked over to open my closet doors. Maria, Elena, and Cora had the liberty to unpack for me and place them neatly in the closet.
I decided to go a bit more casual on my first day. I chose a plain white long sleeved shirt and a knit oversized sweater. With it, I wore my favorite pair of dark skinny jeans. I paired it with a pair of baby pink colored oxfords and pink rose shaped earrings. I slipped on my pink gem ring along with the necklace Lexi and Aeko have to me before I left. I admired it for a few second before glancing at the clock which read 7:42.
I grabbed the brown backpack I had packed the night before off my dresser and slung it over my shoulder, slipping in both my arms. I grabbed my phone from its charger and skipped down the stairs.
I walked into the kitchen and this time was met my Connor and Alison, his girlfriend of 6 years. I had seen her around the house since I moved here, but we never got the chance to talk very much due to the fact that I was always riches off somewhere by Aunt Julie.
"Hey Ali!" I said with a smile.
"Oh! Hey, Deli! First day of Lakelen? Are you excited? Nervous? I know I was nervous my first day." she said. Alison is a gymnastics prodigy and the best in her age group."Definitely more nervous than excited, but I've been waiting for this day." I said.
She pulled me in for a hug and Connor beside her chuckled.
"Is there a problem, Con?" Ali asked, raising an eyebrow."No, just wondering why girls are so sappy and shit around each other, that's all." he mumbled.
Alison smacked him arm before shaking her head disapprovingly.
