Chapter 17
"He's such a jerk" Jess states with wide eyes, I nod in agreement,
"I can't believe the way he's been treating Zach" I say, "or the way he spoke about me"
"Definitely. If you did that to me I'd slap some sense into you" I have no problems in believing that.
Jess and I have met up for dinner at a restaurant, it's been a while since we've had time to do this since Jess tends to be busy recording in the studio most days. My filming for the movie starts in a few weeks too which I am really excited about. The restaurant we're in is a gorgeous Italian one which has the whole sleek chandeliers and dimmed glow vibe about it, plus a really cute waiter, who from his name badge we figured was called Alek, that Jess keeps eyeing up. I have just relayed all the past week's events to Jess in full detail and I didn't think it was possible to look as repeatedly stunned as Jess did as I told her everything about Nate and Zach, as well as the tension between them.
"He likes you" she chimes and then stuffs a load of pasta in her mouth. I can't help but smile, Jess' table etiquette is definitely one-of-a-kind, I admire her confidence though.
"I like him too" I state, she rolls her eyes and puts her fork down on her plate.
"No, like as in 'like like,' he definitely has some sort of feelings for you. Wow it feels like we're in school confessing crushes" she states, I shake my head.
"It isn't like that, he just defended me because Nate was being downright rude and unreasonable. Just as I also defended Zach" I reply. Jess slapsher hands down on the table in anguish a little too hard and I have to shh her as everyone looks over to our table in the restaurant.
"Sorry" she whispers loudly, I give her a pointed look and she just shrugs innocently before she continues eating. I have already finished eating but Jess always takes longer since she talks the most and gets distracted, I am sipping on wine as she finishes.
"So, are you excited for filming?" she asks, "actually dumb question, of course you are! This is so amazing, I am so proud of you" she beams, I feel excitement rush through me at the mention of the film.
"I am so excited too, this is going to be such a great experience" Jess then leans across the table a little as though she's about to tell me something private, I lean in a little too.
"And you have that sex scene with a certain sexy brunette too, it will be good practice for the real thing" I almost choke on the wine I am taking a sip of and I lean back a little. Again, other tables give us concerned glances,
"That is what he said too" I mutter, our voices are now quieter so people can't overhear. They both said the same thing. Freaky. "We will not be practicing for anything like that, it is just professional." Jess just rolls her eyes at me.
"Okay, well when you both have passionate, out-of-this-world sex, then I'll say I told you so" she vows, I feel my cheeks go bright red and she triumphantly flicks her hair over her shoulder because she got the last word. I lean back in my chair with my wine and shake my head.
There is no possibility of that ever happening.
At that moment, I see Alek walking over to the table and decide to be a little sneaky and play a twenty-first century cupid. Since he is approaching from behind Jess, she can't see him.
"So, how about Alek the waiter" I say casually, sipping on my wine. Jess grins,
"Isn't he so cute? He has such nice eyes, they must be blue, but I could be mistaken. I need to get a closer look. And not to mention his body, I mean that shirt was clinging to him, drool-worthy" she rattles on. I have to hide a laugh as Alek pauses behind Jess, realisation kicking in that Jess is talking about him.
