Any other day, Luna would have gotten up to go out into the yard and paint, but today, Jay was coming with a surprise. Jay told Luna that she wasn't allowed to leave her room since she wasn't sure what time Jay would be able to show up.
"When is your friend coming?" Gloria asked.
"I'm not sure. She said around noon."
"No, I mean your guy friend. The crazy one." Gloria wiggled her eyebrows, causing both girls to giggle.
"He said he has visitors today, which never happens."
Gloria sighed and sat up in bed. "I haven't had visitors since I got in this hell-hole."
Luna closed her book and put her attention onto Gloria. Gloria still succeeds to make Luna laugh in the morning and evening. She's an absolute doll to Luna. Luna just can't piece together why Gloria wouldn't have any visitors.
"Why not?"
"Well, when I was put in here, my family disconnected from me. Told me I was a disgrace to the Wilson name. I believed them." Gloria shrugged a shoulder and stared down at her nails. "It's alright, though. I'd rather write than deal with actual people."
"You've put up with me for this long. Not everyone can do that," Luna chuckled out. Gloria smiled, setting her notepad onto her bed. "Let's make a pact that when we get out of here, we'll still visit each other."
Gloria smiled even brighter, pushing herself off the bed. Luna did the same, putting her hand out infront of her. Gloria took it firmly and shook it. "Deal."
That's when that friendship really began. Sure, they shared a room and saw when each other break down, but this was when they declared that even after they were out of the stupid mental hospital, they'll visit each other and make sure each of them are alright.
"I think I'm going to go down to the cafeteria. Want anything?" Gloria asked.
Luna shook her head. "No thank you. I'm not feeling well. I think I'm just going to sleep until Jay gets here."
"Alright then." With that, Gloria left, allowing the door to be left halfway open.
Luna laid her head onto her pillow and thought about the days since the park paint fight with Louis, since she really saw who he was.
He's changed since then. He still picks on her, still torments her, but it's all in a playful manner. She gives him the banter back, of course. She has to stand up for herself, but now she also sees the Louis that is kind. He cares about her health.
That's something that has been slipping Luna's mind; her health. The other day, she woke up ill and rushed to to the bathroom to vomit. That hasn't happened for quite some time, but she blew it off and acted like nothing was wrong.
It's been going on for two days now. She's about due for a check up at the doctor's, so she just keeps blowing it off, thinking it's not a big deal. Bad part is, Luna hasn't actually told anyone that she wakes up vomiting. She lied to Gloria and said she just has to go pee in the middle of the night since she's been drinking water.
What a lie that is.
After dozing off for about 30 minutes, she hears someone enter the room. Luna turned over and saw Louis standing against the wall.
"What're you doing?" Luna asked.
"My visitors left, so I thought I'd stop by. How're you feeling?" Louis crossed the room and sat down on the edge of Luna's bed.
"Alright today. How are you?"
"Pretty decent."
Luna saw how puffy and red Louis' eyes were. They were clear signs of crying session, but the smile on his face wasn't fake. It was as if he was crying because he was happy and he's still in his high.
