Lune woke up, the lights striking her eyes and causing them to burn. A groan escaped from her throat as she tried to turn over and block the blinding light from the ceiling. She wasn't able to move much, though. Something kept her body somewhat still. She looked down towards her arms and saw all of the tubes and needles, causing her skin to crawl at the thought that those things were in her arms.

"Luna?" A fragile voice sounded from the right of Luna, causing her to jump a little. Once her eyes focused, she saw Jay sitting with her journal in her lap and her legs up towards her chest. "How're you feeling?"

Luna just shrugged one of her shoulders and looked around the rest of the room, noticing a pillow and blanket on the chair that's on her left. "Who-"

"Louis," Jay answered before Luna had a chance to ask. "He went to get some tea. He'll be right back."

"How long have I-"

"Three days since the day you came here."

Luna nodded and turned her head towards the door as it creaked open, her dad appearing from the hallway. He stood a distance from her for a minute before taking a few strides towards her bed. He leant down and kissed her forehead, mumbling an apology that Luna accepted.

He sat in what Louis' make-shift bed was and fumbled with the cloth in his hand that he uses instead of tissues.

"Have they been saying anything?" Luna asked either Jay or her father.

"The obvious," Jay mutters. "Why won't you go through with it, Luna?"

Luna just shook her head and played with the snags in the poorly made hospital blanket. "I won't, I'm sorry."

"It's ok," her father quietly answered. "I just wish you could be here longer."

"Don't we all," Luna mumbled. She stopped with her fidgeting when the door opened.

"Shit," Louis whispered to himself as he fumbled with his tea cups, one splashing over the edge. He looked up and allowed the door to shut behind him as his eyes fell on Luna. He stood there for the briefest of seconds before setting the cups down and making his way over to Luna, taking her cheeks in his hands.

"Luna," he breathed, his forehead leaning against hers.

"Hi," Luna replied, her voice faultering as Louis' lips grazed atop hers. Luna just smiled and pushed him away, one of her hands gesturing towards her father. "Please meet properly."

"Hello," Louis started, gesturing for Luna's father to take his hand.

Her father took Louis' hand and strongly shook it. "Tom."

"I'm your daughter's messed up boyfriend. This is not a way for me to ask for approval from you, just simply informing you." Jay laughed from the right of Luna as Luna just sighed and shook her head. Even her father broke a smile at the odd boy.

"Fine then, but for your information," Luna's father began as Louis turned back to Luna. His head quickly snapped to the older man, his attention solely on him. "You're approved."

Louis' grin spread to his eyes and he said "Thank you."

"Alright, alright. Let's leave them alone, ok Tom?" Jay said with a small smile. "But not for long. I wanna be back in that chair in ten minutes."

"Promise," Luna said to her best friend as they walked out the door.

"Hi," Louis said quietly, sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Hi."

Louis grabbed Luna's hands in his and he smiled, leaning down and kissing her wrists. Luna lifted her free hand to Louis' chin and pulled up, causing him to face her.
