Poetically Incorrect

A poem about poems

is nothing but mayhem

a jumble of words

scattering birds

a story about poems

is well worth the mess

leaving their reader taking a guess

but poems about poems about poems

are simply nonsense

they feel way too dense

and stories about poems about poems

don't sound right at all

I'd rather hit my head on a wall

and this poem about such deeds

is quite the poem, indeed

it's sure to leave me a concussion

if I don't draw up a conclusion!

Ah- but wait

those lines didn't rhyme

and neither do these

and neither will this one, in fact

i could go on forever about this poem

talking and spitting such low-stemmed

words that don't fit on a line

it's as if I committed a crime

but none of this matters

on my creativity platter

so here's the bone

rhyming, that's what I own!
