"But I don't want it to be my choice!" I yelled. "Please don't get upset. We'll figure it out together. All you have to do is trust me." I smiled. "Well, you know I already trust you." Then it was his turn to smile. We were headed back to the house when I heard another noise. "Noah, what was that?" He looked over. "I can't tell you." I was confused. "Go tell Julie I'm going out for a little while." He nodded and I started back towards the woods.

Noah's POV : I turned to see where Cat was, but she was already gone. I felt my eyes start to tear up. There she goes. She doesn't understand. I want to protect her, but she won't let me. This might be better though. Why couldn't she just trust me? This was the test.  She didn't pick me. I knocked on the back door and Julie answered. "Where's Cat gone off to?" she asked me confused. "She asked me to tell you that she was going to stay out in the woods and explore for a bit." She smiled. "Thanks for letting me know. Would you like to come in and wait for her?" I shook my head. "No, that's fine," then I turned to leave. She wouldn't want to see me after her trip to the woods. I got into my car torn, then drove home.

Cat's POV : I looked back to see if Noah was watching me but he was already at the house. When I got back into the woods, the dog was waiting for me. I decided to call him Wolf, just because he looked like one. He seemed like he wanted me to follow him. He kept pushing me farther into the woods. Out of nowhere Wolf barked. I turned to see what it was but didn't see anything. I was going to start walking again, but then heard Noah's car start and drive away. I held my head down for a minute. Why wasn't he staying to wait for me? So much for figuring it out together. I let it go and kept walking. We walked for a while before I stopped to sit. I started to drift asleep. It was really late. Then Wolf barked and ran off. Where was he going? Better yet, what was he running from? I got up and ran after him. It was hard to keep up with him. He would run under bushes and branches. I was running then tripped. I fell to the ground but instead of getting up, I went to sleep. I woke up a little after to Wolf licking me. It was still dark out, and I couldn't see a thing. I got up and followed Wolf who was now walking beside me. I thought I saw Noah in the distance so I started walking towards him. Then I stopped. That wasn't Noah. "Don't be scared," the voice said. "I'm not going to hurt you." The shadow started walking towards me. I backed up, but then Wolf pushed me into him. He caught me and  I looked up at his smiling face. "I'm Lucas," he smiled. "Cat, pleasure to meet you," I blushed. "Pleasure's all mine." He had green eyes, and light brown hair with blonde highlights. He was strong. You could see his arm muscles against his long sleeve. "So, what are you doing out here this late?" he said breaking the silence. "I was exploring. What are you doing out here?" I asked him back. "Looking for my dog. Seems you two have met?" I laughed. "I guess you could say that. What's his name?" "This here is Hunter."
