Chapter 7

"Hunter, I like that name." Lucas smiled. "Do you know how to get out of here?" I asked him hoping he'd know. "Yeah of course I do. I basically live in these woods." I laughed. He motioned me to follow him. We walked for a while with Hunter close behind. When we finally made it back to my house, Julie came running out. "Cat ,where have you been? Your mother and I were worried sick!" she paused for a minute. "Why aren't you with Noah? Who is this boy?" I chuckled. "Sorry I made you worry. Noah didn't want to investigate the noise I heard, so he went home. This is Lucas. I ran into him while I was trying to get home." She didn't have much to say. "Well, as long as your back. Head inside." I nodded. "Who's Noah?" Lucas asked me after Julie went inside. "He's my boyfriend. Meet me back in the woods tomorrow, and I'll introduce you two." He nodded and smiled. "Sure thing. See you then," he said before he left.

Lucas' POV: I headed back to the woods. Hunter was close behind me. I've never met anyone like Cat before. She was so beautiful. Her green eyes and black hair always seemed to glisten in the sun. I am going to be meeting her boyfriend tomorrow. I want to show her that I'm stronger and more powerful than Noah. The way she explained him, makes him sound like a coward. He was too afraid to enter the woods huh? The woods are my home. I've lived here my whole life. I have no family, no friends. All I have is Hunter. Cat will be mine. I'm sure of it.

Noah's POV: I was about to leave my house when I got a text from Cat that read: I need you to come to my house tomorrow. We are going to the woods. I want you to meet Lucas. Come over later if you want so we can talk and hang out. Love you! XO I put my phone in my pocket and started to Cat's house. This is exactly what I meant by the big decision. She doesn't know, but as she gets closer to Lucas, she's pushing me away. I can't stop her from picking him.

Cat's POV: When I got inside I texted Noah. He answered saying he would be over as soon as he could. A little while later he knocked on my door. I told him what happened in the woods and he responded that he already knew. "What do you mean you already know?" I asked him. "This is the big decision I was telling you about. You don't realize it now, but you are going to start falling for Lucas. I didn't want you to go in the woods because you were going to meet him." I was shocked. "Why didn't you stop me or follow me?" "I can't change your choices. You pushed me away to explore. I wanted you to trust me, but you didn't." I shook my head. "Noah, I've said this before. I trust you with my life. If you would've told me sooner I wouldn't have gone. I want us to be together forever. We don't have to go meet Lucas tomorrow if he will pull me from you." "We have to go. You already started the war. He's after you. If we don't go he will come here. He lives in the woods, it's his home. Do you understand how strong he actually is? He will crush me!" I couldn't bear what he was saying. "Noah, what is he after?" He stared at me before answering. "Me."
