"So, you and Dylan are buddy buddy again?" Kelsey asked as she put on her Starbucks apron. "I told you I had a bad feeling about Micah. Nobody ever listens to me these days."
"Well, we're mutural. I don't depise him as much as I did before." I replied, wiping the tables before my shift was over.
"You mean you never depised him. You're still in denial with your feelings." She stated seriously. Okay, maybe I am in denial and completly trying to aviod this subject of ever being with Dylan again, though, I can't hide from it for so long. It'll come back to bite me in my ass sooner or later.
"I don't know," I sighed. "I guess I'm just trying to figure things out. There's a basketball game at my school tonight, Ashlyn's coming with me." Ashlyn was a girl I met the other day here at work, then I found out she was a new girl at my school, so I asked her if she would come to the basketball game with me. Ashlyn was a nice girl, she reminded me of Kelsey, but a little more serious.
"Ashlyn's cool." Kelsey smiled as she wiped tables. "Who do you know plays on the basketball team?"
"I think Dylan plays, not totally sure."
"Ohh la la." Kelsey sung. "You get to watch him sweat in all his glory." She teased, she'll never give up on the whole 'Cylan' thing.
"You're never going to stop, are you?"
"I will, when you two get together." She replied. "And when you do, we can double date. Conner and I, Dylan and you. That'd be exciting."
"Well, keep on dreaming." I stuck my tounge out at her. "My shift's over." I stated, hanging my apron on the hook.
"Text me the deets later." Kelsey said, I nodded and said my goodbyes. I was suddenly grateful that it took only about ten minutes to get home by foot.
When I got home, nobody was around, except the maid. Not that I was surprised or anything, my parents were off on business trip. It's been like this ever since I was around twelve, and old enough to stay home alone. They'd be gone for months, and they came home once in a while, but then jet off to do business. I didn't really mind them not here, they wern't the most understanding parents I could have, but I was glad that they do their business just so I could have a better life. That's why I love them.
I glaced at the clock on the wall, I had an hour before I had to leave to the basketball game and meet up with Ashlyn there. I ran upstairs to start getting ready.
At The Basketball Game
"Chanell!" I saw Ashlyn waving to me, signaling me to come sit by her. The bleachers were filled with students, and it took a little complication to finally get where Ashlyn was. A
"Hey." I smiled at her, Ashlyn had long, blonde hair and green eyes. A few feckles here and there, she was thin, but an two inches shorter than I was. "How's the game going?" I asked, considering I came after the game started. Nothing like being fashionably late!
"We're winning, and how come you never told me this school had such cute guys?"
I laughed. "I thought you'd figure that out sooner."
"Did you ever consider whitening your teeth? Just asking." I was a bit taken back by her question. Yeah, I didn't have those pearly whites, my teeth needed some work. My teeth were probably one of my biggest insercurites.
"Um."
"You should. Not trying to be mean or anything." I decided to let it slide, but that still wasn't nice of her to say. I know my teeth aren't the greatest, but still, to make a comment like that? Not cool. You don't hear me saying "Hey, do you wear heels? I think you should, you're short. Not trying to be mean or anything."
