"Aw man!" Dylan complained. 'So close." We were the carnival, while Dylan was trying to win his mini motercycle, which wasn't going so well but he refused to give up. I didn't see Ashlyn or Jack anywhere, I think I saw them on the ferris wheel, but it wasn't that easy to tell. There's plenty of couples everywhere.
"Dylan, we've been at this thing for an hour. Can we at least go on some rides?" I was starting to get impatient, though I did want Dylan to have his fun and try to win the mini motercycle, but it was pretty obvious that he wasn't going to win this thing. I felt like it was rigged, because I don't remember anybody winning it. They just payed seven hundred dollers instead of playing, which was an outrageous price, but it was better than standing there forever and trying to win.
"Sure, Heals."
"Oh em gee, Chanell and Dylan!" I turned to see Ashlyn dragging Jack by the hand, and running towards Dylan and I. To be honest, I wish she didn't find us, I thought it was just going to be Dylan and I this time. But Ashlyn's full of surprises.
"We didn't know you'd show up! We should totally go on some rides together, us four, you know!"
"Yeah, sounds like fun." I smiled, though It didn't sound like actual fun, but hey, we'll see.
"Let's go on the ferris wheel first, Dylan you can sit with me!" Ashlyn smiled, I felt bad for Jack, why say that in front of him? Plus, why sit with Dylan, wouldn't she rather sit with Jack? Oh wait, sitting with Jack would be the right thing to do, but Ashlyn insists on being closer with Dylan.
"Isn't Jack your date? Shouldn't you sit with him?" Dylan pointed out, which was weird since I was just thinking about that two seconds ago.
"Oh, right." Ashlyn's tone made her sound disappointed, Jack seemed like an nice guy, I don't how I'd put up with a girl who wanted somebody else and was too upfront about it. I understand liking somebody else, but it wasn't the nicest was she was doing to Jack.
"Well, let's go!' I said, and we started walking over to the ferris wheel. We had to wait in line, so we just talked for a while.
"I really wanted Dylan to sit with me." Ashlyn whispered to me sadly. Yeah, but I want Dylan to sit with me also. She wasn't the only one that liked him.
"It's going to be you four right?" The guy asked, we all nodded. "Go ahead."
There was a seat on the right side, and a seat on the left side. Dyan and I took the seat on the right, while Ashlyn and Jack took the left.
"So, did Jack win you anything Ashlyn?" Dylan asked.
'Oh, don't even Dylan." I laughed, remembering that time when he won me something. I think I had still had it, though I don't remember where.
'What? I'm curious."
"Why?"
"Because, I won you something, Victor won Vanessa something. It's a classic thing to do on a date while you're at a carnival or something."
"Are Victor and Vanessa still together?" It was such an out of the blue question, I haven't talked to Vanessa in a really long time. I guess I was avoiding it, she's in some of my classes, we never talked, we even avoided eye contact. It was kind of sad, really. We got into a fight over such a pointless thing, and none of us bothered to fix it.
"Yeah, they are." Dylan replied. 'Vanessa misses you, you know."
"If she did actually miss me, she'd make an effort to talk to me." Dylan gave me a look after I said that. But it was the truth, if you actually miss someone, and you could make an effort to talk to you, wouldn't you? Maybe it's just me. "Well, if you miss someone, you'd make an effort to talk to them, right?"
