Chapter 53: Retribution Part 1

         I silently called Fira.  I knew she's weak but I need her. I looked down and see my fire crawling slowly from my feet. Just when I am about to burn Lily's hand, a furious wolf jumped over her and almost bit her if Johann was not there.
        I coughed downright when I was on my feet. That was close, was all I could think. 
         "Lily! Stop whining, will you!"
          I looked up and saw Johann trying not to break her arms as he locked her in his strong hands. Lily continues to whine and hiss.
          "You better hold her tight, prince. I will kill her definitely if she tries to harm my mate again!" That was Henry who is exiting from the trees already dressed in his human form. He stands beside me and held my hand.
      "Let me see how bad it is." His fingers trace my skin with tenderness. I could not help myself but to stare at him. He is being protective of me again.
      "I am fine," I mumbled catching my breath. He just growled lowly. It is obvious that I am not fine. I am still catching my breath and I am perfecy sure that Henry sees my reddened face. "Thank you." With that I sighed and throw my concern eyes to Lily and Johann.
         If these two did not come for my rescue or rather for Lily's, something really bad happened which I will surely regret later. My fire could do harm to my cousin. And she could have killed me. She is incredibly strong and firm.
       "She suddenly snapped at you for these reasons- either she sees you as her meal or you provoked her." Johann saaid still holding Lily in his arms while the latter is trying to free herself. She is hissing like a mad animal.
       I did provoke her. And maybe she is hungry too. She hates herself and so definitely she starves herself too. I hope my cousin will not die just because blood disgusts her. Lily is just confused.
       "She is confused. Let her go Johann." My throat itched while I talked. Damn!
       "Tame her, bloodsucker." Henry throw his raging sight to the prince. He even growls at him.
        I have this feeling that these two will start another fight. The prince hissed so loud and released Lily. He faced my mate with ferocity. His fingernails elongated and his eyes are the brightest red. Lily seemed to stop her tantrum. She was stunned by Johann's stunt. I knew these two won't kill each other. So, I did not stop Henry. And I wanted to hear Johann's response to my mate's order.
        "Don't provoked the darkness within me, pup. You are the alpha, yes. But I can slaughter you and the rest of your pack without knowing it. You are forgetting something which may lead to your death. I am the next king of the royal vampire land. Do not forget that!"
      Did I just suffered from severe goosebump!? The prince words just scared my coward skin. I stared at Henry but the pup seemed not to care. He is still standing with confidence and he even scoffed.

       "I am here because Lily is here. And her family is my family now. So, that makes you a family too. We share the same enemy, don't we?"

       Okay I have to butt in because I guess my cousin is still out of her wit. I moved beside Henry and smiled at him. That would back him down.
      "Okay... enough the two of you. Our real enemy is coming any time soon. Let's go back to the camp." I hold Henry's hand and glad his muscles relaxed. I faced Johann again. And said,"don't let my cousin out of your sight. You are supposed to take care of her. And not to scare her."
       Johann smiled and nod.
       It's time to leave this place. Iberron is coming and we need to be ready.
       This conflict can be settled after we faced Iberron. That is, if we are lucky enough to survive the wrath of my lunatic father.
