Chapter 52: Revelation

        The three of us decided to take separate paths in order ro find Lily faster. But it didn't happen without a little drama. Henry wouldn't let me go by myself. However, after some exchange of assurances and compromise, he let me walk into a different direction. I went west while Johann took the east. And Henry was forced to go north. I just hope my little cousin did not run like a rocket or turned into a bat.

         Before my feet and knees have come to exhaustion, I found Lily. Well, she found me actually.

         "What were you thinking, Lily? You can't just run like this!" I can't help my voice to rise when we finally settled infront of the shallow river.

          "I am sorry. I...was scared. He said I am his soulmate. And then, I got mad when I remember he turned me into a monster." I watch her as she tries to create waves. I deeply sighed and held her hand.

          "I understand how you feel Lily. But Johann just wanted to save you." I cleared my throat after saying that. Well, I knew what I've said couldn't help Johann and her destiny.

           "He did not save me! He comdemned me and took my soul. I don't want to walk on this earth forever," Lily uttered acidly. Meanwhile, her raging voice became a whisper when she speaks again. "Though, I really need...to be cured. I hate myself now."

         I really need to be cured. I heard that. Is she sick? Or rather, was she sick? I intently stared on her very smooth face.

         "Lily, this is your destiny." I finally said. Now I am certain that she needs Johann's blood as much as I need it too. Lisa's vision was not just for me.

          "I was cursed the moment my mother  conceived me. My blood decreased every year. The only solution we have is the pure blood of this creature."
          But Johann take her mortality. In return, she became what she is now. I don't hate the prince. When the perfect time comes, Lily will still join him, will become like him. I saw her changed like Johann. Just it was not my expected time. This happens so early that Lily has not given time to prepare.
        "Lily..." I hold her hand to make sure she'd not run again while I am talking. "Give him the chance to show how sorry he was. Johann is also suffering for what he did to you. Believe me, he does not like it when you run away from him everytime he wanted to explain."

      "He told me I am his soulmate. It does not make sense to me because I don't see him the way he sees me."
       It is not my intention to laugh but it did happen. "Excuse me for that. I am sorry too. But hey, I was scared too when Henry told me he dreamt of me every single night." I laughed again. Lily found my eyes and she was a bit surprised. The word 'really' was written on her very smooth face.
        "Flattering isn't? But it was true. I am his mate. That scared me too. I don't want him to get hurt. I have this plan to give myself to Iberron just to spare his life, and all of you. But Henry will also suffer the most if I will do it."

         Lily held my hand tightly. "This is the first time that I felt confused. I hate myself. I hate him. But part of me wants to acknowledge him. He saved me from death..."
       I smiled at her. "Don't rush things dear cousin. Let things fall into their right places."
        "So are you saying that I should let Johann make amends for what he did to me?" She's a bit furious.
         "I am." I swallowed the lump in my throat. Lily is no ordinary woman. If she snaps at me right now, she might kick my butt. But I hold my confidence while staring at her crimson eyes.
         "I can't believe you actually like Johann to make amends! Look at me, Maib! Look at how he has changed me!"
          She vehemently pushed my hand and jump away from me. She even hissed at me. Her eyes are blistering with so much hatred. She despises herself and the likes of Johann. I am not afraid of her. Lily is my cousin. I know her.
        Unfortunately, as I am thinking about it, Lily strangled me hard that I started choking. To my utter surprise and horror, I tried to escape but she is too strong. She holds my neck up and I could not feel the ground any more.
         This is not what I expected to happen. We are supposed to resolve the issue, not to fight!
        Oh Lily! I don't want to burn you!
