"Where are you going?" Dad's voice asks as I throw a sweater on over my black v-neck and dark wash skinny jeans. "Out." I state the obvious as my sarcasm, like usual, gets the best of me. I see his eyebrow lift upwards waiting for an explanation. Tugging my black Uggs on I grab my phone off of the counter and turn towards the door. As I expected, I can't get away that easily and it becomes clear to me as dad appears in front of the door blocking my exit. The smirk on his face just challenges me more as I quietly plan my way out. Speedily I race to the window and take a moment to wave at him before jumping out.

Jake's P.O.V.

Holy shit. My heartbeat slowly return back to normal as I see Cassidy is uninjured after jumping out of the second story window. Why? I have no idea. "You do realize you have a door, right?" I question as she shrugs it off. God she's so... Different. I love it that way, it's always something new. Even after only knowing her for about two weeks now she doesn't make it feel that way. Almost like I've known her my whole life.

Looking up at the window she just jumped from I see Edward's eyes watching over her. Usually I would hate him and up until not even a month ago I did. Made that pretty obvious if I do say so myself. But she changed that, she changed everything. It's like a switch turned in me from my old ways now seeing a new light on the situation. It's her.

"Jacob." I hear the bloodsuc- Edward say. I really gotta get used to that. "Forgot to ask; Should I start calling you dad now?" A smirk planted on my face as I ask causing Cassidy's angelic laughter to fill my ears. Immediately making me turn to her with a smile on my face.

"No." Edward states with a small sigh even though it's quite obvious he is holding back a smile. With that he closes the window and disappears somewhere into the house. I like to think he actually likes the idea of Cassidy and I. Either way, it's really not much of a choice on his part.

Cassidy's P.O.V.

"Hey beautiful." Jacob greets once my father goes somewhere into the house. His arms extend a little as I great fully accept his hug. The warmth he contributes washes over me like a blanket as I breath in his scent like its my oxygen. Feeling his chest rise and fall he slightly picks me off of the ground for a second as my arms tighten around his neck and I let out a small laugh into his shoulder.

Once placed back onto the ground our bodies unwind from one another as he hands me the helmet that I've become quite familiar with. "Where are we going?" I ask purring it on as he gets onto the bike and I do the same behind him. "Charlie invited my dad and I over for dinner with Sue and her kids since he heard Leah and I are home." He explains as I become pretty confused. "Who's Leah?" I ask understands most but not all of what he just explained. "Seth's sister, she's part of the pack but took off for awhile after Seth imprinted." He explains starting up the bike while I nod as the information makes sense to me.

"Wait- but why was she upset Seth imprinted?" I ask before Jake starts riding and the wind cuts off my words. "Jealousy. She was in a whole complicated love triangle, and the guy she used to date was Sam. Our pack leader... He imprinted on her cousin." He explains more as I can't help but feel horrible for her. Maybe that's why she's so bitter, it makes sense. I faintly remember seeing her the day Jacob imprinted and I crossed the border, makes sense now. "Emily?" I ask knowing of Sam's imprint. Jake nods knowing who I'm speaking about and having much else to say about it. "Oh."

----------

Pulling up to the familiar wooden house that my mom grew up in Jake's bike comes to a stop. "Ready?" He asks as I nod taking off the helmet and handing it to him while he gets off. Hopping off after him I speed to the front door causing Jake to look around with a confused face. God he's so cute. "Come on your so slow!" I call over to him as his head turns to see me making him laugh as I smirk. Soon enough Jake is next to me and he goes to knock. "You don't have to knock you know." I look up at him briefly before opening the door for myself and heading in.

That is until I come face to face with the rude Leah. Her stern glare on me looks behind me to Jacob. "Who said you can bring her? This is a family dinner." She tries to argue as I burst out in laughter. Her frown only becomes harder, if that's possible as I speedily duck under her arm and into the house before she even has time to notice me moving around her. Her misinformation to who I am is just so funny to me.

As she turns annoyed my way her face reddens in anger. I look back at her seeing my grandfather coming to see what's going on. "Hey!" I say to him as his eyes light up a little seeing it's me. Nessie is here all the time because since Sue and Charlie got together this is where he is staying. "Hey kiddo!" Charlie invites as I'm embraced into one of his tight infamous hugs. "Haven't seen you around here often, glad you came." He says letting go of me as Jake shuts the door behind himself and a confused Leah speaks up. "You know her?" She asks as Charlie nods a little taken back by her angry tone. "Well if by being my granddaughter counts, then yes." His explanation causing her face to go a little paler then usual and Jake and I to laugh. "This day just keeps getting better and better." She bitches slamming the door close and walking back over to the TV.

"What was that about?" Charlie asks as I shrug it off and roll my eyes at her. I get she's had a bad past but that doesn't give her the right to be a complete bitch. As Charlie greets Jake I go over and sit next to Ness. "What's for dinner?" I ask ask she points to the pizza boxes as my face drops. Great. "I ordered you a salad, calm down." She intends as I get a bit happier at that. "Thanks."

----------

"Pizza's in the kitchen for anybody who wants it." Sue calls out as everyone around me seems to stamped over there. Human speed I walk towards the kitchen, unlike Nessie who after making sure Charlie was in the bathroom bolted over to be the first one at the pizza boxes. "Cassidy." I'm called making my head turn towards the source. A wise looking Billy sits around the dining table with Sue and Charlie who's making his way over. After grabbing my salad out of the fridge I take a seat next to Jacob.

"I was planning on introducing you to Billy and Jake, but it seems you've already met." Charlie says after I say hi back to Billy. Staying quiet is my best option here to let somebody else explain. "Bella visited with her a few weeks ago." Billy says as I just nod along to his explanation. Sue pats my "grandfather" on the back to help comfort his confusion. I call him Charlie most of the time due to the awkwardness in age like I do to Esme and Carlisle. "Oh." He replies shrugging it off and taking a bite of his pizza.

----------

Seth and Leah apparently have patrol tonight so they left about thirty minutes ago and Jake took his dad home a bit before that so he should be back any minute.

"I don't understand." Charlie's stubbornness repeats the topic that he's been on for the last hour. "It's like Seth and Renesmee honey." I hear Sue try to reason from the other room. "Jake imprinted on you?" He asks for what has to be the fifth time as I sigh and nod again.

It does make it reasonably easier that Charlie noes about all the wolf stuff, but he's very skeptical about it all. "The same Jake that was just here?" His dumbfounded questioning driving me insane begins to why the best of me as I slightly snap. "Yes that Jake. Billy's son, Jacob Black." I repeat a little louder then usual before he goes mostly silent. I know I shouldn't be harsh on a touchy subject but we've been explaining for the past hour, plus he's been through this before with Nessie shortly after we were born.

"Is your mom okay with this?" He asks looking up slightly from his, what smells like, coffee. I shrug a bit breathing a deep breath. "She uhm... Accepts it. I guess." I reply uneasy towards my mothers shakiness on the whole Jake and I situation. After a short silence Sue joins us and Charlie speaks again. "Well, I'm happy for you." I smile at this a bit as Jake walks in as if on cue. "Ready?" He asks helmet in hand. I turn to him with a nod before we all stand up and I give a quick hug to Sue before moving onto Charlie.

Giving into his embrace he seems to squeeze a bit tighter then usual before speaking lightly into my ear for only me to hear. "Your growing up, but I'll always be here Cassidy." He says as I take in his meaningful words. I've always have had a weird connection with Charlie, Nessie and I both. "I'll always be your home." He finishes as he's grip loosens as I slowly back away. "I know." I mouth back at him with a smirked smile on my lips. I feel his familiar pay on my head which at this age is a little weird causing me to give him a weird look.

"Bye Charlie, bye Sue." I explain going over to Jake who repeats my words.
