"Ready?" Nessie asks as I look at my reflection in the bathroom mirror. She's all anxious to see Seth even though they just saw each other a few days ago, I better not ever get like that. Shrugging I put my mascara back in my makeup bag then putting it back under the sink. My hair is down straightened as I'm dressed in cropped yoga pants and a black crop top. I push my hair behind my shoulder and take in a deep breath hoping to calm myself down. "What are you so worried about?" She asks as I turn around to face her instead of looking at her through the mirrors reflection. "Everything." Admittance escapes my lips as it's seemingly impossible to list all of my frantic thoughts at this very moment. Sighing she gives me a small smile and then speaks again. "Well, if worse comes to worse you can always just bite him." She laughs trying to make light of the situation as I let out a small laugh from under my breath. "That's what I threaten Seth with anyway." She plays along as I turn the light off fallowing her out and into the living room where I meet with our awaiting parents.
Getting into dads car I see the his eyes catch with mine in the rear view mirror giving me a reassuring smile. With earbuds blasting at full volume into my ears I stare out the window at the surrounding nature. Trying to look at the positives, at least I get off of the property again. With some form
go 90's rock flowing into my ears I try and use it to push away my thoughts. The time passes a lot quicker then I expected it to until we dropped Nessie off at Seth's house. The road becomes bumpy as I look ahead of us seeing the car headed up a drive way of some sort leading to a small red cottage. As we come to a stop they exit the car while my stomach begins to turn and knot itself. Turning off my music I unplug my earbuds and throw them into the car somewhere before closing the door behind me. I speed up to my parents who are nearing the front door so I'm not lagging behind awkwardly. They stop in front of the door as my mother speaks up. "Go ahead." She motions looking between me and the door signaling me to knock.
As I step onto the doormat my hand balls into a small fist about to knock before hearing a sound from above me. Seeing my parents did as well, we all look up to see a tanned, muscular guy with chopped black hair staring out the window in shock. Trying to get a glimpse at him he quickly closes the drapes causing my to look over to my dad for some form of an explanation. A laugh escapes his lips before he explains to my mom and I what's going on. "He's actually more nervous then you are Cas." Dad snickers causing mom to mutter a laugh into the back of her hand. Letting out a deep sigh I roll my eyes and knock on the door with a small amount of hesitation.
Slowly the door opens to reveal a wheelchair bound man with hair almost as long as mine lying at his sides. Biting my lip a little nervously, I regret not bringing Jasper with us. The man scans over me then to my parents behind me and a smile grows on his face as I move over a little bit hearing my mother walk forward. "Bella, I was wondering when I'd see you again." His deep voice holds a bit of glee as she bends down to join in his embrace. "Hi Billy." Her soft voice exclaims so lightly that if I wasn't what I am, theres no doubt I wouldn't be able to hear it. I feel dad push one side of my hair behind my shoulder in a sign of comfort as I look behind me and we exchange small glimpses. The man who goes by Billy looks up, but not at me, at my father. "Edward." He nods in a somewhat reassuring way as my dad does the same motion back to him. "Nice to see you again." He says politely as I stay quiet not yet being spoken to. The eye contact between them end as the wise looking man averts his vision onto me. "And you must be Cassidy." He explains locking eye contact as I give a nod and speak up. "Yea." My voice soft but loud enough for him to hear. Reaching out his hand with a warming smile he gestures to shake hands as I nicely step forwards accepting the offer. "Well come inside its a bit cold out there today." He explains wheeling himself away from the door to let us in.
Looking back at dad for reassurance he nods forwards cueing me to fallow as instructed. Doing as told I see mom walk away from us probably to go confront Jacob. Leading us to a round wooden table dad turns on the light from the fan above it. "Thank you, Edward." Billy says seeing my father as always, read his thoughts about turning the light on, which would be hard for the man to do. Nodding he pulls my chair out and a chair for himself as Billy sits across from us. "How've you been?" He asks me as I tense up a little worried to say the wrong thing. I'm not really shy once I warm up to the surroundings, but I'm also not used to meeting new people.
"Uhm, good. I guess." I explain to the best of my ability letting out a nervous laugh at the end. Conversation being cut short by yelling coming towards this side of the house. Oh god, why can't this just be at least a little bit normal.
"I can't believe you, Jake!" Mom yells as there are pounding footsteps coming towards us. I glance between the other two seated around the table before we all turn to see the two of them turn the corner exposing themselves. "Bella you know it's not a choice!" The tanned boy that I'm guessing is Jacob tries to explain. But knowing my mother she can't care less for an explanation. When she's mad... She's mad.
"Not your choice? Jacob why were you even around her in the first place?" She shouts louder as neither of them realize us watching their heated argument take place right in front of us. "Sam called me and said someone unknown was on our territory! I didn't even know she was your daughter!" He shouts back now becoming aggravated with the situation just as much as she is. Something tells me this isn't going to end well. "Exactly, she's my daughter Jacob!" Mom yells with emphasis on 'my' before pushing his chest harshly which sends him flying back out the front door. All three of us quickly get outside to see what's going on just incase it gets too out of control. With Jacob getting off of the ground he landed on back first she breaths in unneeded air out of aggravation storming after him.
"Bella! Just listen to me!" He shouts as I look over to my father and Billy a bit scared for what's ahead. "Listen to what Jacob? Your not taking my daughter away from me!" She yells back a bit too defensively as he stands on his feet again. "I'm not saying that, just listen! You know me, better then anyone. I'm not trying to take her away from you." Jacob tries to state calmly even though my mother is having nothing to do with it.
Why won't she just listen to what he has to say?
Her aggravation fails to die down what so ever as she pushes him again now getting me aggravated. I have no idea why I'm getting so angry over this seeing I haven't even really met Jacob yet, but it's irritating me. She's being irrational. "I don't care!" Her voice coming out like a hiss at this point about to hurt his again as she moves towards him. "Bella!" Billy tries to call out in a weak voice obviously concerned for his son. Getting angrier I mentally scan my options on what to do before coming to a conclusion. It's what needs to be done. "Cassidy..." I hear my father speak up seeing what's going on. You don't have to be a mind reader to understand what's gonna happen next. As my eyebrows form in a pissed off upside down 'V' on my face and my eyes squint a little, I focus directly on my mom doing something I haven't done in awhile now.
It seems as everything stops for a moment as she stops moving. Cluelessness is clear to everyone except my father and I before mom realizes what's going on. "Cass, I'm sorry." Her priorities eventually hitting her while she is temporarily blinded. It's obvious to everyone that I'm aggravated as I feel all eyes on me, except for my mom of coarse who I'm glaring at in order to cut off her sense of sight. "Just let him speak." I say under my breath without breaking my glare on her that I intend on keeping until Jacob is done stating his explanation.
Feeling Jacob's eyes on me I so desperately want to look at him but am unable to or else my mom would get sight back and probably attack him. "It all makes sense now, like everything, every problem I've ever had has been answered. She's the answer Bella." Feeling a warmth inside I wish I could focus more on him without having to keep her under control. "Answer to what." She spits out viciously. "The answer to us, we never made any sense and I get that now. It's clear that she was the reason. The reason I used to always want to be with you, the reason that during your pregnancy you wanted me there, it's all because of Cassidy." Hearing my name come out of his mouth felt so right, so addicting.
"What do you want from her." She says a lot calmer now that she's been forced to listen. A sigh escapes his mouth as he continues obviously relieved that she's less likely to kill him at the moment. "I don't want anything from her. Just to keep her safe, happy, same thing you want." Once he finished I cut off my glare causing her to regain sight. Closing my eyes tightly exhausted from my long and forceful stare everything around me becomes quiet before I hear my mothers voices again say once one simple word. "Fine."
