"How did you do that?" I hear Billy's voice ask from behind me. I'm not used to talking about my gift because it's really not something I'm supposed to use all that often. I don't have a need to. Looking over to my dad he gives me a nod of encouragement to go on with the explanation. "It's my gift." I say keeping it short and sweet. As my mother walks back onto the patio with Jacob dad talks about it more in detail. "She can cut off the five senses." His voice notes with a hint of pride in it as I give Billy a small smile at the reasoning.
And now here we sit, all seated around the same table we were at just moments ago. "Jake, I'm sorry." Mom says grabbing my fathers hand under the table giving it a small squeeze. "I'll heal." A smooth, yet warming voice comes from the guy that I've put together is Jacob. "Why did you come in the first place?" He asks not in a rude way just out of pure curiosity. This time my dad speaks up seeing he's much better at explanations. "Alice saw you were going to come, we brought Cassidy here to ask Billy if she was a threat to the pack." He says causing Jake's eyes to avert over to mine. It's an nervousness that overwhelms me catching eye contact with him, him being Jacob of coarse. Seeing our stare I immediately cut it off looking back over to my dad. "Why would she be an issue, Renesmee isn't..." Billy trails on unaware of the difference between my sister and I.
"The Volturi will use any excuse to take Cassidy." Mom admits before going on. "She's the first of her kind, not just being a hybrid. Cassidy has a few other... Advances." She's cut from speaking in her confusing ways by dad. "I can't read her thoughts, Aro can't get inside her mind and Alice hasn't had a vision of her future until now." Glances are passed all around as I look down at my shoes awkwardly not having anything to say. "What do you mean until now?" Jake asks concerned and the bigger conversation then sparks up. "Alice knew when you imprinted, something happened. She sees Cassidy's future now. We don't know if it has something to do with the imprint because Seth imprinted with Renesmee at birth. But if her change of fate does have anything to do with you the Volturi will be coming once they find out." He says as I look over to Jacob. Seeing his eyes already on mine I immediately feel... Wanted. "That is if they haven't already."
