Chapter 5
"How was your holiday, sexy lady?" Sally greeted me outside of our registration class.
"It was good fun, how was your holiday?"
"Amazing; I sat at the pool and tanned and read that book for English, but then this really hot guy kept checking me out so I went to get a drink and he followed and started a conversation..."
"Was that the random guy you added on Facebook?" I asked, having wondered who the guy was she randomly added and was tagged in photos with.
"Yeah, hot isn't he?"
"I suppose, didn't really notice," I answered truthfully. I had only gone on briefly in the middle of throwing lots of my things away. "Just to say, I'm moving house...tomorrow actually."
"What? Where?" She asked having stopped texting on her phone with the weirdest smile on her face.
"You're old house."
"Who are you going to live with?" She asked, knowing about my parents arguments.
"My dad, his girlfriend and her son..." I trailed of when I saw Jamie himself, the boy I was moving in with walking along the corridor with his girlfriend.
"Well, that's awkward," Sally commented when Jamie noticed me and sort of huffed like he was thinking about the same thing I was.
"Its fine, I mean it's only living together so it's not like we're family," I said, looking away and walking into our classroom.
"If you're dad is moving in with his mum, which means they are close then...so what if they are engaged?"
I scoffed, "C'mon Sal, dad never wanted to marry my mum for the paper, why would he want to with this one?"
"Because he never wanted to be tied down, think about it, you're parents are still quite young."
"They had me young," I said then it clicked. "He didn't want to be tied to the woman who had his baby because I wasn't meant to happen..."
"Exactly, wait, not meant to happen?" She said when she registered what I had said.
"If they were young and he didn't want to spend his life with her, then I was a mistake."
"Don't talk like that, or I would be so bored at school without you!"
The bell rang and I walked off to my first period class, holding my phone. It vibrated and I frowned and looked to see what it was saying. It was a text from Craig saying he enjoyed yesterday. I smiled and replied as I walked into my classroom. We texted most of the school day, but when I got home I decided to try and do some work, like the stuff I didn't do in class. It was strange putting down my phone and ignoring the flashing light telling me I had a text. I eventually gave up and replied to him.
"Ally, have you packed everything into the boxes?" My dad asked poking his head into my room, soon-to-be old room.
"Yeah, should I just leave them here or put them somewhere?" I asked whilst looking at the boxes spread out across my floor.
"Put some in the boot of my car, we're taking some stuff to the house tonight, you're new bed is already there and made," he informed me piling up some boxes and lifting them carefully. I did the same as we made out way to the car. We couldn't fit many in the boot or in the back seats, but we only needed 3 trips before I could start unpacking everything to where I wanted it.
Dad went out to get some of his own boxes and left me alone in the new house. The door opened and I heard two people come in so I went to check who it was and saw dad's girlfriend, Mary, with Jamie.
