Ji-yong dropped the glass of water onto the kitchen floor. When he thought that Yoona looked good even in house clothes, nothing could have prepared him for her looking like a model straight out of a magazine. He should know since he had may friends who were supermodels. But Yoona was different in that, she wasn't disconnected or aloof. She still had that intense look earlier, and she didn't even smile but she still took his breath away. Now she certainly caught his attention when she was rushing to the door.
"Are you alright?" she asked in a worried tone.
He snapped back to reality and cursed silently. "Oh no! I'm sorry. The glass slipped..." he lamely explained. He was actually quite shocked at her beauty but he was even more shocked at his reaction. He chuckled to himself and was even more determined than ever to get to know her.
He said quickly, "It's fine. You should go. You're late, aren't you?!"
Yoona's face became even paler but she just nodded. "Right. I have to go. It was nice meeting you..." she said with regret. Although she was quite the whiner while helping Ji-yong last night (he was heavy!), she didn't regret saving him. She wished she could just while the morning away - with him, but her reality waited and it was going to be a tough battle today. She squared her shoulders and smiled one last smile at him and went to her car. She hoped to get to the office just 20 minutes late, but it was not to be.
Debris was littered on the street, two blocks away from the office, some construction mayhem or something. She cursed colorfully and made a u-turn to look for another way. She was angry and frustrated but she struggled to hold it in. People in the elevator cringed visibly when she entered and she was ashamed at her behavior - but that didn't stop her irritation from showing.
Now the 'highlight' of her morning stared her in the face. The mood was certainly serious and there were subdued smiles all around. Whenever she looked at the men's faces, she can't help but feel betrayed. She sat down and wanted to fiddle around with her stuff to at least stall them for even a minute, but she decided, 'ah to heck with it'.
Yoona smiled politely at the men seated around the table. Jisung sat on a chair, just to the left side of the table, ready to help but even her efficiency didn't comfort Yoona at this moment.
Straight Solutions, Inc.; a PR and marketing firm, was Yoona's brain child. She liked solving problems and making the most out of projects at the lowest cost. Of course, she wasn't cheap, but her company's slogan was to get the best solutions at a lower price. In the course of 7 years, she finally had loyal clients and the books were looking good; she was slowly but surely gaining in the past couple of years. She even started paying off her debts 2 years ago, especially paying off the seed money that she borrowed from friends. She didn't want partners - too complicated - she loved the freedom of steering her own ship - but today's situation was a very bad down side: she was all alone.
"Good morning gentlemen. I hope we can finally come into a mutually beneficial decision today..." she tried to sound cheerful and she prayed she came across so. No sense in alienating these people who held her life in a balance.
