Yoona was cutting up some vegetables to add to her stew when the bell rang.
She gasped and ran to the door - only to stop at the mirror to check herself. She was disgusted at what she saw. Her face looked as bad as she felt. She was tired from working all week and her face showed all of her fatigue.
She had dark circles under her eyes and she lost more than a couple of pounds. She couldn't do anything more to improve her appearance so she stopped trying and hoped that maybe a smile will work in her favor.
She ran again to the door and stopped to compose herself. She didn't look to see who it was, she just opened the door and flashed her brightest smile at Ji-yong -
Only it wasn't him.
For the umpteenth time this week, she was vastly disappointed.
Apart from the flowers he sent her, he didn't call her nor did he visit anymore. 'Not that he has to!!' she blushed in her mind and she closed the door angrily.
But it didn't close because her brother's foot stopped it from closing.
"Hey sis! Watch it! I've only got one right foot you know!" Yoongyu winked at her and kissed her cheek.
Yoona stepped back and rolled her eyes.
"You're here..." she said while going back to the kitchen to finish her stew.
'Ugh!!! Why did I think Ji-yong was coming?!! Are you crazy, Yoona?' she cursed herself again.
"What's for dinner?" her brother asked.
"I've got some scraps - set the table if you want some" she ordered him.
Yoongyu smiled at her and set the table. "Let's eat!" she called.
They gave thanks for the food and after small talk her brother asked her, "How's everything?" Yoongyu asked.
Yoona smiled at him and shrugged delicately.
She can talk about anything with her brother but tonight, she didn't want to burden him with her problems. She knows he wouldn't mind - but she vowed not to be too affected by her problems - she's even lost weight already.
Yoona smiled at him and just said, "It's still the same. Are you praying for me?" she asked.
Yoongyu stared at her hard, and his angry eyes gave her comfort.
"Of course - those bastards should pay you!!" he exclaimed.
Yoona sighed and dreaded her parents' visit. She hoped to solve her problems alone but what is family if they can't hep you in your hour of need? So when her mom called to ask how she was, she just cried and couldn't say anything.
Tomorrow, her parents and all of her siblings are coming.
'Oh God! Please help me!' she prayed seriously. When her family gets together it will be one heck of a circus but she smiled and was comforted.
Yoongyu went back to eating and he was once again back to his happy-go-lucky self, entertaining her with his tall tales. Yoona was thankful that he was the one to come first, she realized she needed all of her family to help her.
Yoona looked out the evening skyline and sighed wistfully, 'Ji-young? I miss you...' she laughed because she finally admitted that she felt something for this man.
Yoongyu's eyes widened as he choked on his food, "Ohmigod, did you go off the deep end sis? Oh god! She's too young to die as a mad virg-"
Yoongyu ducked to avoid a flying fork.
