Marcus sat in his room. He could hear the doctors in Zander's room trying to put tranquilizer in his system with no such luck. Zander's roar was muffled, but it was loud enough for Marcus to hear. The sound made him shiver at the thought of the monster he can become. He grew to the size of a bull and his features changed. His face grew longer and his nose shrunk until it turned into slits like a snake. His skin took a blue tint and an extra pair of arms sprouted from his sides. It reminded Marcus of the Hulk in his favorite movie, The Avengers.

Zander was hit with the most radiation out of the three. His behaver was damaged and he had no way of controlling his mutation. The doctors and scientists believed that he took on the form of an alien species that actually existed. The theory that there were more of those monsters scared Marcus almost as much as Zanders eyes.

They shine blue at all times, so bright that they could blind a human just by looking at it. Marcus remembered looking into those eyes when Zander woke up only a month before Celia. His first instinct had been to kill everything in sight, including Marcus and Jayden who narrowly escaped before his eyes shot lasers or rays or something. Marcus didn't know what those eyes could do. Moments later Dr. Tanner shot Zander with a tranquilizer that caused him to pass out.

The engineers created steel goggles that locked onto his eyes; they never have been taken off. Zander was trapped every day, unable to see or comprehend what they were doing to him. He got worse when he was told of Charlie's death and Celia's condition at the time.

Marcus prayed that Celia could stabilize him.
