"Your task is to create a calming potion. You have an hour. Begin." Snape drawled. He sneered at Hermione, Ron and I as he walked past, his bat like cape flapping behind him.
"Snivellus," I muttered. Ron snickered, but Hermione frowned.
"That's not very nice," she commented as she flipped through Potions for Beginners. "Ron, put in the gillyweed already!"
"Times up," Snape drawled, looking very bored. "Stopper you potions and bring them to the front." Hermione proceeded to do so, but not before some Slytherins tripped her, sending the vial across the room and shattering on the floor. Snape sneered, sending that loathing look he saved especially for me in my direction. I felt my face heat up, and I clenched my fists.
"That's not fair! They tripped her!" I said.
"And now there is no potion, so therefore no grade," Snape said. I fumed silently and opened my mouth to say more, but felt Hermione's hand on my arm.
"Don't. They're not worth it," she whispered, not looking at me.
"Bloody gits," Ron said. The Slytherins just sneered.
The bell rang and we walked as fast as we could to Transfiguration. The rest of the day passed quickly, with some troubles and moans about the ridiculously long homework assignments given, but nothing too exciting. That is, until flying lessons.

"Give it back, Malfoy," I yelled, hovering in the air on my broom. Malfoy held Neville's Remembrall in his hand triumphantly, leering mockingly at me.
"What're you gonna do to get it back, Potter?" He sneered, and hovered ever higher. I pulled up on my broom and soared into the air, zooming as fast as the old school broom would allow. I leaned forward and snatched the Remembrall from Draco's hand, and soared into the air. Malfoy's curses could be heard through the clear day, and I laughed and zoomed down.
I landed softly and handed Neville his Remembrall. He muttered thanks, grinning nervously.
"HARRY POTTER! JUST WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU WERE DOING?" Madam Hooch had come back with none other than Professor McGonagall. McGonagall was red faced, screeching at me. "Come with me, Potter," she yelled. Hermione looked at me mournfully, and I could feel Draco's triumphant gaze scorch my back.
I was silent as she led me into the school. We went up two flights and appeared in front of Professor Flitwick, the Charms professor's, door. Professor McGonagall leaned in and said, "Flitwick, would you mind if I borrowed Wood for a second?"
I froze right there. What was "wood?" A stick she would beat me with? I sighed in relief as a broad chested sixth year stepped out, looking bewildered.
I listened in amazement and excitement as McGonagall told Wood about flying lessons, and how I would make a great Seeker. A Seeker for the Gryffindor Quidditch team! I could hardly breathe. I spent a few hours with Wood in the Quidditch pitch, practicing catching. I was already very good at it, I had been playing Quidditch with Padfoot and Moony for as long as I could remember.
"Ron, I'm on the Quidditch team," I said as I sank on my bed in the dorms.
"You're not. They don't let first years play." Ron said, but his eyes were flashing with excitement. "That's what McGonagall wanted you for?" He began jumping up and down, hollering.
"Shh! Ron! But yeah, I'm in. The first practice is tomorrow night. Now I've got to write Remus and Sirius a letter." I was shaking with excitement as I sat down and picked up my quill and parchment. I sent Hedwig off as quick as I could, and listened to Ron excitedly prattle off about different Quidditch moves and teams.
When we finally went to bed, I couldn't sleep. I got up to brush my teeth a second time, just for pure movement, and my heart was beating a mile a minute. I was on the Quidditch team! I was a prodigy! One of the first first years to make it!
When I finally fell asleep, I dreamed of flying.

Hey, guys!
Sorry for slow updates and short chapters, but that's just how I write. I'm excited for Harry, aren't you? What will Padfoot and Moony say? What will Malfoy's reaction be when he finds out?
Thanks all for reading, voting and commenting. I love it when you do that!
Love,
Echo
