I woke up to find myself on the couch. As I blearily looked around, I found Remus snoozing on the other side, head lolling, book in hand. Lily was sitting on the floor in front of the fireplace, and huffed when she noticed me. I slowly began to smile as I thought up something to do in my free time.
I hid in the kitchen and put on the kettle for tea. I snickered as I counted down the seconds. Five, four, three, two, one---and an explosion was heard, and a surprised yell from Moony. I heard him get up, and look around.
"What on earth--" he said, confused. Then he gasped in realization. "SIRIUS BLACK, COME HERE RIGHT NOW!"
But I had made my escape and was running to town.
I morphed back into human form when I got closer, and decided to go shopping for a while. Remy would like some books. Maybe then he'll let me in the house again.
I walked into a musty looking book store, and picked up a random book off of a shelf. It was very dusty.
"Need help with anything, sugar?" A honeyed voice called behind me. I turned to find a young girl, heavily laden with make up, fluttering her eyelashes at me.
"Sure, sugar. I'm looking for a book for a friend of mine." I turned back to the bookshelf.
"Well, you'll find old classics over here." I followed the lady to a shelf near the entrance. There were some pretty weird titles, such as Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, and Cinderella. I grabbed a few, and shoved them in the bag the girl gave me. I also picked up a guide on motorcycles. "That'll be thirty seven euros," the girl continued.
"What was that?" I said, sidling up to the counter and smoothing back my hair.
"Uh--fifteen," she stuttered, grinning idiotically at me. I smiled.
"Couldn't quite hear you, sweetheart."
"Five?"
"All righty. Here you go--" I quickly transformed a galleon into some muggle money and found one that said five. "And have a wonderful day," I continued as I sauntered off into the sunlight.
After picking up double chocolate donuts to seal the deal, I ran back to Rose Cottage as Padfoot. I really wanted to sleep inside tonight.
"You're not coming in, you big lout," Remus shouted from the window.
"But Moony Mcmoonkins I brought you books and donuts," I called, widening my eyes and shaking the bag. I saw his nose twitching and smirked.
"Chocolate?" He asked, mouth watering. I nodded, opening a box. He was down the stairs faster than I thought possible. I looked in front of me to see the door open and a grumpy Remus staring at the box I had just opened. "Fine. This time." He growled, and snatched the bags from my hands. He seemed a bit more savage than usual.
"Aw, thanks, Moony!" I squealed and hugged him. He pushed me off and said that if I squished the donuts there would be war. "Full moon tonight?" I asked, grabbing a donut and pouring myself a cup of tea. Remus nodded.
"You know, I'm really glad Harry didn't ever see," he said, eyes clouding.
"He'll have to," I said. "Someday."
"I know."
"Are you glad I brought the chocolate?"
"No."
"Are you sure?"
"One more word and you're sleeping outside."
