I yawn and flip over on my bed. The bed sheets are on the floor, as usual, and I brush my hair out of my face as I squint at the clock. 3:45. Huh. A new record for this year, not counting last year when I woke up at four thirty.

Eventually I decide to put clothes on and act like a human and so I do, my mouth watering at the thought of Remus' bacon. Not that I would ever tell him, but that bacon was something to die for. I give up trying to deal with my hair, wondering bemusedly what was wrong with me, and so I settle for a stocking cap.

I need coffee, I think, walking down the stairs. I'm never this happy in the morning. Afternoon, I corrected a moment later.

Seriously, what was wrong with me? I was just happy to be, happy to be who I was. Happy for Remus' bacon.

"You decided to grace us with your appearance," Remus drawled, sipping a cup of tea.

"Yes! Yes I did!" I smiled. Remus just stared at me.

"What," he said, "got into you today?"

"I don't know! But I'm really happy! Did you make any bacon?" I asked. It just felt so good to be happy and awake... Then Remus started laughing.

"I see," he said.

"See what?" I said, confused.

"What Fred and George did to you while you were sleeping." All of a sudden, it hit me. Fred and George. Whatever those two menaces did to me couldn't be good. Why on earth was I so happy anyways?

"What did they do," I said, my voice hoarse.

"Wearing off now, is it? Amazing what Cheering Charms can do. I should put one on you more often," he added thoughtfully. "I mean, they really shouldn't have, since they're only sixteen, but since the Ministry can't trace who the spell comes from, I suppose I don't really care," Remus continued.

That's why. That's why I was so happy and didn't care what my hair looked like and why I didn't need coffee. Those two menaces were going to pay. "Remus, get me some coffee," I snapped.

"There's some on the stove already," he said.

"Where's Harry?" I asked once I had a large mugful of hot steaming coffee.

"At the Weasleys'," Remus commented.

"Lily?" I said. That dog and I had bonded over the years Harry had gone to school.

"She went along. I thought Harry could use a break," he added.

"Yeah," I said. "After what happened with that Diggory kid and all..." I trailed off, sipping my coffee, and leaned back in the chair.

"Yes. I'm still very worried. Do you think we should perform the Fidelius charm? You know, since we're all in danger now?" Remus stared ahead, seemingly at nothing.

"No!" I cried immediately, painful memories of Lily and James coming right to the surface.

"But look at the pros and cons. Believe me, I know what you're thinking. But we can't let Lily and James and past happenings get in the way of Harry's safety. I've written out a list, and I suggest you look at it." Was all Remus said, and he handed me a notepad with his neat handwriting on it.

Pros:
Less of a chance of Voldemort finding us.
Harry would be safer.
Less of a chance of Death Eaters finding us.
We would be safer.

Cons:
If we chose another person to be Secret Keeper...
All very hush-hush
No more outings for Padfoot and Lily
