Edmund

"Everybody! Everybody wake up! It's the blue star!"

I immediately wake up and push myself off the ground. My eyes adjust and sure enough there it is. I see the bright blue star just ahead of us. It's alone but still shines bright for all of us to see. That's the one Coriakin has been talking about this whole time. I look around and don't see Charlotte or Caspian anywhere. I frown but Reepicheep calls attention and for everyone to get everything to the rowboats and prepare to leave for the Dawn Treader.

It doesn't take long for everyone to pack up our belongings into the row boats. As we are loading the last few things, that's when Caspian and Charlotte emerge. Both seem...on edge. Not what I was expecting.

"Nice of you to join us," I tell Charlotte but she doesn't say anything. She doesn't even acknowledge it. Not like her. Usually she's itching for a chance to make a witty reply back to me.

Lucy walks over to me, "What do you think is the matter? Charlotte seems upset."

"Who cares," I reply huffing over to the rowboats. We all file into the rowboats, but as we do I notice Charlotte and Caspian are talking a lot. They both seem really upset too. On the way out to the boat, neither of them would stop talking and they are whispering so none of us can hear them. I tell them both to stop their bickering and focus on getting back to the shop out of annoyance. The rest of us don't have time for their problems.

Ever since we left Coriakin's island Charlotte has kept her fair distance from me. I know there's a reason why but she still hasn't told me. Does she really hate me after everything that's happened between us? She told me she doesn't but I'm starting to doubt it. I don't even know what I did.

We reach the Dawn Treader and don't hesitate in setting a course to follow the blue star. The afternoon arrives and I'm standing with Caspian and Captain Drinian as we sail.

"Ed? Are you listening?" Caspian asks getting my attention.

"Yes, huh, what is it?" I ask snapping out of my thoughts of Charlotte.

"Captain Drinian just explained a rather troublesome situation," Caspian explains and looks at Captain Drinian to repeat what he just said.

"The wind has left us," Captain Drinian states.

"So how do we get to Ramandu's Island now then?" I ask looking around and notice the sails haven't moved at all. We are at a complete standstill.

"My guess is something doesn't want us to go there," Captain Drinian answers as he walks past Caspian and I with his hands folded behind his back and leaves us.

I look at Caspian and he pats my shoulder and leaves too. At least our relationship is getting somewhat better. It doesn't feel as strained or awkward as it does between Charlotte and me. The hot afternoon continues and as I do my rounds and help the crew, I notice most are growing tired and famished even quicker than usual.

Captain Drinian gathers Caspian, Charlotte, Lucy, and me at one point concern clearly registered on his face. "If we don't find land by tonight, the crew may well eat that dragon," he states eyeing Eustace.

Suddenly, the whole boat rocks and shakes and everyone goes toppling over each other. You'll never guess who lands on me.

"Ow, sorry Edmund," Charlotte apologizes.
