Jeonghan's POV

I walked through the halls with Joshua and Woozi by my side. I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket and checked to see who was texting me.

Seuncheol:
Shake off your friends and meet me at study hall at 11:00.

I checked the time and saw that it was 10:55.

Jeonghan:
Next time, let me know a bit more ahead of time.

I sent the text and stopped walking.

"Guys, I don't have a lunch today. I'll just walk to my house and grab something to eat." I lied.

"You sure? I can buy you something from the cafeteria." said Joshua.

"No that's fine. I'll see you guys later." I said, walking towards the back exit of the school instead of the cafeteria.

"Well alright. Don't be late for class." said Woozi.

"I won't." I said as I left the school. But instead of heading towards my house, I went around the school and entered through the front door. I went inside study hall and saw Seungcheol sitting down at a table, writing stuff done on a paper with a book and a few more papers scattered around him. Hm. I guess he started without me. I sat down facing him and took the math book he had in front of him to take a look at what he had to do.

"You're late." he said, not looking up from his paper.

"By two minutes." I said, seeing on the clock that it was 11:02. "Besides, you can't blame. You're the one who told me I had to shake off my friends."

"Yeah because if they knew where you were going, I'd probably have my tutor taken away from me." said Seungcheol, chuckling and looking up at me.

"Fair enough." I said with a small smile. "So what are we doing?"

"I just need a little help on my homework." said Seungcheol.

"Alright." I said. I looked at the page he was at in his book.

"Number 1. A to E." he said.

'a) 4(5y + 3) + -3(6y + 5)' it said.

"So here what your supposed to do is multiply 5y by 4 and 3 by 4. That would give you 20y + 12. Then you do the same over here. 6y multiplied by -3 and 5 multiplied by -3. That's -18y + -15. So now you have 20y + 12 + -18y + -15. What do you do?" I explained. Seungcheol blankly stared at the paper for a moment and then answered.

"You add -18y to 20y and add -15 to 12... I think." he said.

"Exactly! You're on the right path. So that gives you..." I said.

"2y + -3" he said.

"Perfect!" I exclaimed. "But to make it simpler you..." I wanted Seungcheol to answer it for me but he looked at me blankly. "Adding a negative number is just like subtracting a positive number. So instead you of + -3 you would just say - 3."

"How do you remember that?" asked Seungcheol.

"It's easy. Taking notes helps memorize it." I said. "How about I lend you my notes so you can copy them."

"Isn't that cheating?" he asked.

"Not if you're just copying my notes." I said with a small grin.

We kept going like that for about thirty minutes just doing his homework together. Then, I heard someone call my name from the other side of study hall.

"JEONGHAN!" I heard Joshua's voice shout. Seungcheol and I looked over and saw Joshua, Woozi, Minghao, Dokyum, and Hoshi walking towards us.

"Oh shit." said Seungcheol under his breath. We both started packing up our stuff but not fast enough.

"Jeonghan, what the hell!" yelled Hoshi. "Why are you here with him?"

"He needed a tutor." I said innocently.

"That's not the point Jeonghan, and you know it. You lied to us. So that you could come here and hang out with him. Do you not remember what he's done to you? Or tried to do? He tried to ruin your life. He tried to ruin all of our lives. Their main goal in high school is to make our lives as miserable as possible and you're here to help him?" ranted Hoshi.

"What do you mean, him? He hasn't done anything to us. He's not like them." I defended.

"Yeah, and how do you know?" said Hoshi. "He's friends with those jerks. Heck, he's their leader. Of course he's like them! How do you know he's not just setting you up for some cruel joke, or something?" Suddenly, realization hit me. Hoshi's right. It was probably all an act. I looked at Seungcheol who was looking at me speechless. I looked back at Hoshi who was fuming. "You stay away from Jeonghan." added Hoshi, pointing at Seungcheol. He grabbed my arm and dragged me out of study hall.

When he let me go he folded his arms and stared at me angrily. The other boys were right behind him and had similar expressions.

"Look I'm sorry. I don't know what I was thinking." I said.

"We warned you about him Jeonghan. And I'd honestly suspect you to be the last person who would sneak around with a guy like that." said Joshua.

"Sneak around..? You guys think I like him?" I exclaimed.

"Well why else would you want to help him?" asked Dokyum.

"Oh, I don't know, maybe because I thought he was a nice guy and I'm a decent human being?" I said. "At least my intentions were good. You guys don't have to act like it's the end of the world."

I stormed off towards the cafeteria, with mixed emotions giving me a head ache.

On one hand I'm kind of glad that my friends came and knocked some sense into me. I honestly have no clue why I trusted him. On the other hand, they have no right to be angry at me for trying to help someone out. Plus I don't understand why Hoshi was being so harsh. There was no need for that.

Then there's Seungcheol. I'm really confused now. I have no reason to be angry at him because technically he didn't do anything wrong. Yet. I know his friends. And I know if he hangs out with them, or is their leader in his case, he's just like them. Hoshi's right. I shouldn't have trusted him.

Hey guys. So first off I wanna apologize for the bit of math I put in this chapter. I was gonna put more but then I was like 'woah hold up, you're not writing a math textbook'. Let me know if you liked it. Oh and message me if you have any suggestions for future chapters. It'll be appreciated.
