Jun's POV
I felt bad for leaving Winter and Kaden alone but, hey, I want to see this shit with my own eyes. I'm almost one hundred percent sure that Seungcheol is crushing on Jeonghan. I honestly don't mind. If they started dating I'd just get used to it. It would be hard to get along with Jeonghan's friends but it would work. Right? I don't know. That's a problem to be solved later though.
I walked alone to the local park. I wasn't walking fast because of the cold but because I was really excited to see them together. But it was a plus seeing as I was freezing my ass off out here. When I finally got to the park I looked around and spotted Jeonghan and Seungcheol sitting on a park bench. I immediately ran to a tree and hid behind it. I watched them awkwardly talk for a few minutes until someone grabbed my shoulder and spun me around.
"What are you hiding from, Wen?" asked a happy looking Hoshi. Pretty sure that he's only happy cause he hasn't seen Jeonghan and Seungcheol yet. Wait... If he sees them he'll definitely pull Jeonghan away with him. Shit.
"I told you. Call me Jun." I said.
"Why? What's wrong with Wen?" asked Hoshi with a teasing voice.
"What's wrong with Kwon?" I asked.
"Fair enough. So what is it that you're hiding from?" asked Hoshi again, trying to look behind me but I blocked his view with my body cause I can.
"Nothing." I said.
"Really? Cause the look on your face says otherwise." said Hoshi. "Wait, wait, wait. Are you hiding something from me?"
"No." I said.
"This, I've gotta see." said Hoshi. He tried to push me aside to look around the park but I stopped him.
"Are you sure you want to do that? You might regret it." I said. And I actually meant it.
"Come on, move over." said Hoshi. He tried to push me out of the way for a moment, with no success, but when he got mad, he pushed me to the ground with all the force in his body. Damn, he's stronger than I thought. Note to self: never underestimate Hoshi, ever again.
Hoshi looked around for a moment with a blank expression, but even from where I was laying on the floor in front of him, I saw the exact moment where his eyes locked on Jeonghan and Seungcheol. And trust me, the look he gave Seungcheol and then me wasn't pretty. At all.
"I fucking knew it." said Hoshi under his breath as he started speed walking angrily towards them. I got up as quick as I could to follow him. I had no idea how to stop him so I improvised.
Seungcheol's POV
"So, why Starbucks?" asked Jeonghan. "I mean, I don't have a job but if I did and if I were you, I probably wouldn't want to work somewhere where you have to serve people with no clue as to what's going on anywhere but on their phone screens." said Jeonghan.
"Well, I'll admit it's not a pleasant job." I chuckled. "But I kind of don't have a choice."
"How come?" asked Jeonghan, tilting his head. "Your parents want you to help pay the bills?"
"No... Not exactly." I said, looking at the ground. "Um... I have to pay the bills. I'm the adult of the family. My eomma died four years ago. Appa left us when she died. Our aunt raised us for the past three years but she died because of cancer last year. I've been single handedly raising my little brother and sister since then. Starbucks isn't my only job."
"Oh wow, that's so sad." said Jeonghan, obviously not knowing what to say.
"Yeah. By now I'm used to it, though." I said.
"Tell me about your siblings." said Jeonghan, trying to change the subject.
"Well, my sister, Winter, is 14 and my brother, Kaden, is 4." I said.
"FUCK OFF, JUNHUI!!" I heard a familiar voice yell. Jeonghan and I both looked over and saw Jun jumping on Hoshi.
"Holy shit." I whispered. Jeonghan face palmed and closed his eyes, not looking at his friend. I cringed at them. They got up and Hoshi walked over to us really fast, Jun running after him.
When Hoshi finally got here, he grabbed the collar of Jeonghan's coat and lifted him to his feet.
"Hey, take it easy." I said, getting to my feet too.
"You. I don't want to have to tell you again to stay away from him." said Hoshi with hatred clear in his voice.
I watched as Hoshi walked away, still holding Jeonghan by the collar.
I slowly turned to look at Jun, expecting him to be mad, but he smiled sadly at me.
"I tried to stop him. I'm sorry." he said. I tilted my head.
"You're not mad?" I asked, frowning.
"Course not. I mean, it would have been better if you were crushing on someone else but we can figure-" started Jun, before I cut him off.
"Who said anything about a crush?" I asked defensively. Jun crossed his arms over his chest, raising his eyebrows at me. "How'd you find out?" Jun reached in his pocket and pulled out my phone.
"Get a better password." he said, tossing it to me.
"On it." I said, putting my phone in my pocket.
Jeonghan's POV
"Look-" I tried to talk but as soon as Hoshi let me go and looked me dead in the eyes, I was speechless.
"Jeonghan." said Hoshi in a surprisingly soft voice. "Can you please explain to me what's going on."
"Don't do that, Hoshi." I said, looking at his saddened expression. "I know you're mad but-"
"Who said I was mad?" asked Hoshi. "Look, Jeonghan, if you rather hang out with them, fine. Just don't lie to us about it. Tell us if you rather be friends with those... those..." he was going to insult them but apparently he couldn't come up with an insult for the first time ever. He just zipped his coat completely, turned around, and walked away.
"Hoshi! Hoshi, stop! It's not that, just, please, can we talk?" I yelled after him but it was no use. When Hoshi walks away from you, you can't go after him. All you can do is yell and hope he turns around. He didn't. He kept walking.
I stayed put and watched him walk away until he was out of sight. I kicked the ground, turned around, and started heading home.
Seungcheol:
I'm sorry. I didn't know.
Jeonghan:
I told you. Now I bet anything he won't talk to me for who knows how long. There's no way we can be friends without this kind of stuff happening.
Seungcheol:
I'm so sorry.
Jeonghan:
Don't be. Lets just pretend we never met.
I waited for a reply but it didn't come.
