Seungcheol's POV
I woke up at 4:30am without being able to go back to sleep. I groaned as I realized I didn't have to be up for school for hours. I considered going downstairs to watch tv but I was afraid to wake anyone up so I rolled over and tried to sleep. But I couldn't. So I just stared at the ceiling waiting for time to pass.
I'm hungry...
I stood up and slowly left the room, trying my hardest not to wake Jeonghan. As I made my way down the stairs, I heard something in the kitchen. I stopped and listened. I waited for a moment and heard the refrigerator door close. I decided to turn around to check if the others were in their rooms. Winter and Kaden were both sound asleep, Jeonghan's parents were in bed. I heard the noise again and started making my way to the stairs one more time. When I got downstairs, I went down the hallway, and peaked around the corner to see inside the kitchen. It was too dark to tell who it was, but there was definitely someone in there. I took a deep breath, grabbed the closest thing to me as self defence, and turned on the light.
The sight that greeted me was one of pure adorableness. Jeonghan looked up at me with an expression of guilt. He was carefully carrying a cute puppy in his arms. It looked like a boarded collie. It was so adorable. And he looked so cute with his guilty face and puppy in his arms. There was a bowl of milk on the counter in front of him, which is why I'm guessing he was in the kitchen. I smiled at him, relieved. This was good because the only defence I had was a fucking towel.
"Midnight snack?" I asked.
"Don't tell my parents." he said right away with a pleading look.
"Why do you have a dog?" I asked, approaching him. "Why are you even up this late?"
"I couldn't sleep, so I came downstairs to watch tv and heard a bark from outside. I opened the door and this little guy was at our door. No collar, no nothing." said Jeonghan, looking down at the puppy with admiration.
"I'm sure your parents will let you keep him." I said, petting the small dog's head. It yawned and closed its eyes.
Jeonghan smiled at me.
"You think so?" he asked.
"Absolutely." I said, smiling back.
As Jeonghan turned around to put the dog down, I felt a pang in my chest. Lately I've been considering whether or not to come out to him. I don't know, I just don't want him to get weirded out or anything. I know he's gay too and that me being gay won't affect him but what if he finds it weird to share a room with me? What if he wants me to move out or something? What if he starts acting differently? This is why I can't do this.
"Seungcheol?" said Jeonghan, looking into my eyes. "Are you ok?"
"What? Yeah, I'm fine. Why?" I asked, a little panicked.
"You spaced out a little. Is everything ok?" he asked.
"Everything's fine." I said. Judging by the look on his face, he could most likely tell I was lying.
"Tell me the truth." he said, approaching me more. His chest was almost touching mine and I could feel his slow breathing on my neck and I choked.
"There's nothing." I said, sounding more convincing this time. I could tell Jeonghan knew I was lying but he left it there.
"Fine." he said, looking down in disappointed. "Let me know when you can trust me." he added, walking around me and up the stairs.
"Jeonghan." I called after him, turning to face the stairs. His footsteps didn't stop. "Jeonghan, that's not what I meant..." I heard the faint noise of a bedroom door being locked. I guess I'm sleeping down here.
