Jeonghan's POV
Tonight is New Year's Eve and my parents are taking Seungcheol and I to a party while Winter and Kaden will stay at home. Right now, Seungcheol is in the shower and I'm getting dressed in our room. When I heard the water stop I sat down on my bed and waited for him on my phone. He came into the room minutes later, shirtless with loose sweatpants, his chest and hair still damp. Oh shit....... I keep finding myself staring at him. Why am I doing this?
I mean, I don't like Seungcheol. Right? Like... He's nice and all. He's funny, sweet, and, well, I'd be lying if I said he wasn't attractive. He's actually really really cute. And he actually cares. It's hard to find guys like that. That are nice, cute, and give a shit about you. And honestly... I think I might actually be starting to develop feelings for him. And I'm really pissed about it. I've had a crush on a straight guy before. It did not end well. And the heart break? Lets just say I'd rather break a bone than get my heart broken like that again. It wasn't pretty. Thank God he changed schools not long after so I didn't have to face him everyday.
As for Seungcheol. Well, he has big beautiful brown eyes. His hair is always perfectly done, even when he just woke up. His lips are big and kissable. He has such a big heart, it surprised me. He can make me laugh and smile whenever he wants. He just seems like the perfect boyfriend.
Ok, forget what I said about maybe having small feelings. I think I literally just fell in an never ending hole of stupid feelings that I know will be impossible to shake. God dammit, why does he have to be such an amazing human being?
"Jeonghan?" said Seungcheol, snapping his fingers in front of my face.
"Hm?" I mumbled.
"What do you think?" he asked holding up two dress shirts and a bow tie. "Which looks better with the tie?"
"Neither." I said. I went in my closet and pulled out one of my own dress shirts. "This one will bring out your eyes more. Oh and you shouldn't where a bow tie. Here." I took out an actual tie for him."
"Why do you have such a better sense of style than me?" asked Seungcheol, with a cute grin.
"It's cause I'm gay." I joked.
"That's a stereotype, you bitch." said Seungcheol, throwing a pillow at me.
"Boy!" I yelled. I picked up the pillow and hit him over the head with it.
"Oh wow. Ok. So that's how it's gonna be, huh?" Seungcheol leaped onto the bed, grabbed two pillows and started chasing me around the room. After a few minutes of just throwing pillows at each other and laughing like crazy, we decided it was time to actually get ready for the party, which is in ten minutes.
"Boys! Are you almost ready?" eomma shouted from downstairs.
"Yeah, just a few minutes!" I shouted back.
"Use protection." I vaguely heard my dad say and I really hope Seungcheol didn't hear it, but based on his red cheeks, I think he did.
"Do you want to help me with this?" asked Seungcheol, indicating his tie. I chuckled and nodded. I took the tie and wrapped it around his neck, tying it. I could tell he was staring directly at my face the entire time but I tried to keep my eye focused on the knot. I could smell his slight touch of cologne which was making it that much harder to keep my eyes and hands to myself, but I managed. "So who exactly is throwing this party?"
"Just some family friends, it's not going to be some huge party with hundreds of people. Just some small gathering. A couple other families will be there. Other than the adults we'll be the oldest ones there. Most of the kids there are under 15 or 14 years old." I said.
"Ok cool. Anyone I know gonna be there?" he asked.
"Not that I know of." I said. "Joshua was supposed to come because we're friends with his family too but they're spending New Years with family instead of friends this year. So it'll be just me and you."
"Huh? What about Mingyu?" he asked, shaking his head.
"You just zoned out, didn't you?" I asked. "I know I'm boring." I said with a small smile as I finished his tie and turned around. He grabbed my hand, spun me around and pulled me so close to him that to keep myself balanced I had to hold on to his shirt.
"You're not boring." he said.
"You had to spin me around like a princess and almost make me fall to tell me that?" I said, trying create some space between us before I stopped breathing.
"A beautiful princess." he said. He twirled me around, let go of my hand, and bowed. Why is he like this?
"If I'm a princess, I'll need a prince for tonight's ball." I said jokingly.
"Well then, Cinderella, would you give me the honour?" he asked with a small smirk, still bowing and holding his hand out to me.
"Sorry, Charming." I said, high fiving him. "But I prefer Belle." He laughed.
"Then who's your Beast?" he asked.
"I guess we'll find out through the natural course of time." I said. "Come on, lets go. I think eomma might turn into a beast herself if we're late."
We laughed and went downstairs to leave.
Seungcheol's POV
I walked into the house where the small party was being held, Jeonghan at my side. When we went inside, Jeonghan and I sat next to each other on a couch to watch Time's Square on tv with the other younger kids. Jeonghan was right. We were the oldest. All the other kids were like 10 years old. But I didn't mind. They were playing with nerf guns around the couches so me and Jeonghan were basically sitting in the middle of a war.
"If I'd have known we'd be sitting in the middle of a battle field, I'd probably have asked eomma if we could stay home with Winter and Kaden." said Jeonghan. I chuckled.
"It's not that bad. Brings back memories from when I was a kid. Appa and I used to play with nerf guns like these and sometimes Winter and eomma would join in. Boys against girls. It was the best." I said. "Besides, what do you expect kids to do? Socialize with the adults? Uh uh. That's boring."
I stood up and grabbed two nerf guns from the coffee table in front of us, threw one at Jeonghan, and pointed the other at his forehead. The kids stopped what they were doing and watched us to see what would happen next.
"I don't like being bored." I said with a smirk.
"Is that threat?" asked Jeonghan, taking the nerf gun I threw.
"No." I said, shooting him right in the forehead. "It's a declaration of war."
The kids started cheering, and before I knew it, Jeonghan and I were on separate teams shooting each other back and forth.
