It was a cheerful Wednesday morning at Alexander High School, it had been only four days since that night’s incident and things seemed to be going back to normal for Lance, apart from the spontaneous visions that occurred the days before. They came whenever he dozed off or when his mind seemed to wonder. There in Geology class Lance’s mind began to wondering again. As he sat at his desk and stared out the window he began to day dream.  A bird startled him out of his stared, as he blinked, breaking his dead stare. As he looked around, he realized he was in a forest. The air was calm and full of the sound of nature when it all seemed to just stop. He saw Lucifer standing before him, however, this time, he stood his ground.

“I’m ready this time. I’m not running away,” he said. She smirked as she began to walk towards him. Suddenly, the sky and the forest became very surreal as they blended together. Lance then realized he was sinking into the forest floor, merging slowly with the moss and leaf litter, his body being pulled down, as if he was in quick sand. He was scrambling to grab anything; reaching out to find something that he could use to pull himself out, when he heard a voice calling his name.

“Lance…. Yo, Lance…” Ryder called, as he waved his hand in front of Lance’s face trying and break the dead stare he had.

“Sorry…” Lance sighed as he wiped his face and slapped his right cheek twice.

              “Another vision?”

“Yea, they have become more and more frequent these past few days," What he didn’t mention was that the visions were not just flash backs of his past lives, but glimpses into the future as well. He had to keep it together. He still had school and still had a normal life that he had to get back in order. Final semester exams were just a few months away, he was trying to get over his ex, all while watching his back with seven deadly sins after his immortal soul. Seems simple enough, he thought sarcastically, as he laughed to himself.

“Yes, Mr. Lathair, seeing as you find my question so amusing maybe you would like to answer,” remarked Mr. Williams, his Geology teacher. The class turned to await his response

“Ahhhh….” He hadn’t even heard the question, much less know how to answer. He sunk down in his chair, but her voice broke the awkward scene.

“Metaphoric, Igneous and Sedimentary rocks,” Kathy answered and then sat back in her seat. It seemed almost vindictive in nature, but in a strange way she had saved him. She stared coldly at him for a moment before breaking eye contact.  The bell went off minutes after and class was dismissed.

“Don’t forget we have our annual Geo Trip down to the beach front tomorrow, hand in your slips as you leave, thank you!” Mr. Williams reminded them as they stormed out the classroom; after all, it was the last session of the day.

Lance contemplated going to his Taekwondo classes but recoiled from the thought just like he had on Monday. He was becoming more and more reclusive, giving up his usual activities. He was scared and no one really knew to what extent. He rushed down the stairs of the front entrance of the school got on his bicycle and headed straight home to do his homework. He was okay, but as he passed Elizabeth Park, he started remembering the voice and what it told him. The night seemed to replay again in his mind. He picked up his pedaling and zoomed home. On arriving, he quickly took a bath, changed, had his dinner and got straight into his studies.
