Jacob Sartorius: My First Love

Summer

The months after spring break weren't very interesting. We had tests and projects and everyone was just friends. Jacob invited a lot of people to a summer break party. We walked home and I ran to get my bathing suit on since Jacob had a pool. I put a sun dress over top of it. I went over to his house to decorate. He told me his "secret plan". Apparently we were gonna play spin the bottle in the basement. I brought up the thing in seventh grade for seven minutes in heaven. He said things were different but I wasn't sure I believed that. Everyone started to show up. Some of the people included: Mark, Kristina, Issy, Sawyer, Noelle, Cameron, Jack, Weston, John, a different Jacob, Ellie, Jeremy, Nia, and lots more. We all went swimming. Even though I was fit, I still felt self conscious about my body.  I wasn't the skinniest girl ever. I was also a little flat though in the chest and bottom area if you know what I mean. We swam for a little then went inside and down to his basement. Jeremy chugged his root beer so that we had a bottle. Since we weren't going to go into that gay/lesbian stuff, we made two different circles. Guys and girls. We don't have a problem with being gay or lesbian, it's just none of us there were into the same sex. The guys spun the bottle. Then the girls. The first kiss couple was John and Noelle. They kissed. It wasn't very exciting. The next couple was Sawyer and Jeremy. And so on and so on. It wasn't very exciting. The girls spun the bottle and it landed on me. I waited for the boys. It landed on Cameron. We gave a quick peck and it was over. It got boring after the first 5 turns. So they decided to spice it up and make out. Ugh! They spun it and it landed on Jeremy and Nia. I knew that Jeremy had liked Nia for awhile now and I was happy for him. He got up and walked to her and to make it a little less awkward, it was gonna be a not so long make it session. They "made out" and a huge smile was on Jeremy's face. It continued on and it still wasn't very interesting. I had to make out with Jack. No sparks flew so I just shrugged it off. We stopped playing because it got boring and we decided to just do whatever.

"I think I'm gonna head out." I said.

"No, don't. People were gonna spend the night and I know you live over there but you can still hang. And there won't be anything sexual cause, you know, we're minors." Jacob said.

"Are any other girls spending the night?" I said.

"Yeah, Sawyer, Noelle, and Kristina are. I was saving the best to ask last."

I blushed.

"Ok. Let me go get my stuff."  I walked home and grabbed pajamas and tooth brush and all the essentials for a sleepover. Girls were getting the basement and guys were getting Jacob's room. Just so there wasn't anything going on. We all hung out in his living room a lot. You could say Sawyer and John hit it off because they were flirting a lot. I was sort of a loner cause I was kind of shy since this was my first guy and girl sleepover. We ate a lot and I felt very fat. We all said goodnight and us girls went downstairs. Of course we started talking about the boys.

"Sarah, why didn't you do anything to get closer to Jacob?" Everyone kept asking me.

And I responded to with the same thing. "We're just friends. Yeah, I like him a little. Ok, maybe a lot. But we're just friends." And I left it at that. We went to bed around three. We woke up to the boys starting a pillow fight. I'm not a morning person so I was not in the mood for this. I got up and started hitting....hard. I was kind of mad.
