After ignoring my alarm clock for thirty minutes I finally woke up to get ready for work. My parents owned a few businesses, a dog shelter being the main one. That was where I worked. I loved animals, and with me skipping uni, I figured I might as well do something productive with my time.

I pulled on some jeans and quickly rolled the sleeves to the company t-shirt up, making the large top seem less over sized. Unfortunately I have terrible management skills and ordered all male sizes for the company shirts. Now every small was the equivalent to a woman's large. Not my worst mistake, but I had to reorder every single one, they have yet to come in, so for now I'm stuck with a rather large t-shirt pathetically tucked in to accommodate for the extra length.

I routinely fixed my curls letting them drape to my waist, before fixing up a simple breakfast. Toast and jam was always my favorite, and considering my night was somewhat restless I skipped the tea and went for coffee.

Once I was finished scarfing down my food, I pulled my black vans on and headed outside. The shelter was fairly close, and considering I had no car, I usually walked. It was pivotal time to clear my head and momentarily forget the madness that has recently become my life.

I walked through the glass doors revealing the newly furnished shelter. I had insisted we redecorate and so we did just that. It finally looked like a decent business.

"Hi snickers!" I greeted the Great Dane. He was always my favorite animal here, I plan on fully adopting him when my parents leave the house to me and live elsewhere.

"I didn't know you were coming today." The manger Sophie spoke, approaching me as I tended to the animals.

"Yeah I wanted to see how the renovations worked out, and to see Snickers."

"Oh well I'm happy you're here! It's always more fun when you come in."

"That's probably because I spend more time running around with animals then actually running the store." I laughed, realizing what a terrible boss I actually am. I've never been stern a day in my life when it comes to business matters.

"Well it's good to see you 'boss'!" She smirked.

"You too!"

We both went back to work, her probably more so then me. I Simply wandered around for a bit, just waiting to see if anyone needed assistants, today was pretty slow so not much was happening in the dog kennel section.

"Hello gorgeous." A thick accent rang through my ears, catching me off guard. I swiftly turned around to see Zayn lent against the entrance.

"What are you doing here?" I questioned making my way over to were he was standing.

"What not happy to see me?"

"I'm working. You can't just come here whenever you please."

Zayn grabbed my waist pulling me closer to his body. I tried my best to resist without making a scene, but his strength overpowered mine easily.

"Come on love, don't pretend like you don't miss me."

Before I could reply Sophie came in, observing me and Zayn's lack of distance.

"You must be Alex!" She cheered gleefully.

Zayn's jaw clenched tight as we both turned to face a clueless Sophie.

"I'm no where close to that little fu-"

"This is Zayn! Zayn meet my friend Sophie she's a manager here." I quickly spoke, trying my best to calm Zayn down.
