I sat in the uncomfortable hospital bed, waiting for any sign of human interaction to occur. I had been sitting here alone for what seemed like hours and my sanity was running thin.
"Juliet?" The familiar tone of Liam's Wolverhampton accent flowed through my ears. I perked my head up anxiously awaiting his figure to emerge through the door. I was shocked when a boy with a scruffy beard and carelessly combed hair walked through the doors. He had the most enticing blue eyes I had ever seen.
"I'm Louis, you but be Juliet." he politely introduced himself walking up to shake my hand.
"Louis is an old friend of ours." Liam further explained.
"Louis helps us when it comes to legal situations, he's our lawyer. We've known him since we were kids, luckily Lou was smart enough to get himself out of this mess." Liam sighed.
"Me and Liam thought we'd come and get you before going to see Zayn."
My heat beat picked up at the sound of his name.
"Is he alright! Oh god did they tell you anything!?" I frantically questioned.
"He's alive." is all Louis said his eyes never looking up at me. He's alive, but not ok.
I knew if I pressed for details I would hear more than I could handle, so I simply shook my head and followed the boys down the agonizingly long corridor.
I only had a panicking attack so no special IVs or chords were stuck into my arm, giving me the chance to hurriedly go see my ailing boyfriend.

As we all approached the door the three of us paused. Our hearts were beating rapidly, or maybe just my own, but the tenacity in the air was at its peak. I pushed the door open preparing for a bandaged mess to be lying there unconscious.
"Juliet is that you!" he cried turning his body to see me fully. tears spring to my eyes as I paced over to his pressing my lips against his own. they were icy and dry.
"Dear god I thought you were dead." I breathed holding his fragile hand in my tight grip.
"Looks like westside lost this battle eh Lou." Zayn laughed Louis and Liam joining in. I hadn't understood the reference but to hear him so animated after such horrendous events I couldn't help but smile.
"I'm sorry Juliet, for all this." he whispered.
"You're sorry? That bastard shot you. You have nothing to be sorry about." I asserted
"Don't worry we'll get them. I'm in town for a couple weeks and I'll find those sons of bitches. I'll get them for everything they have and then lock their useless beings being bars for good"
"Louis is a lawyer." Liam explained.
"I figured these jackasses need the law on their side." he laughed. I was thankful for Louis' humorous attitude, it lightened the mood drastically.
"Ayy were not jackasses."zayn spoke up but wincing shortly after. He quickly grabbed his stomach and I paled.
"Are you ok?" I rushed.
"I'm fine, I'm fine just a little sore" he assured me, but I was unconvinced.
"Zayn what exactly is going on? Your going to be ok right?"
His eyes bored into mine, they were intense but carried the same expression the rest of his did; restlessness.
"I'll be just fine."
He was lying.
"Don't you dare lie to me. When you forget to blink, I know your lying." I stated. It was an odd observation but I had heard so many lies to be aware of his mannerisms when they were told.
"Juliet please don't worry."
"Love why don't we let him rest? I'll tell you what the doctor said on the way home yeah?" Louis interrupted.
I didn't want to leave Zayn but I knew his body needed rest.
"I love you Zayn, I'll be here first thing in the morning" I stated pressing my lips so gently against his own.
"I love you so much Juliet, please be safe."
With that I reluctantly released his hand and let the boys say their goodbyes. It was bitter sweet seeing him awake. I was at ease knowing he survived the shot, but the bitterness was strong when I released his awakened state may not be so permanent.
