5 a.m.

"Hol' up heaux, so you just downed my entire unopened bottle, told that nigga off and still came back here in one piece? Ooh, don't do that shit again. I was worried about you!" Tia exclaimed.

I giggled softly holding a sleeping Nasir in my arms while Malachi rested in my lap. "Shut up fool, you'll wake my babies.I'm sorry and i'll get you a new bottle. Anyway, it felt so good to tell him off and when morning comes around then I'll deal with Lisa."

"I can't believe that two-faced bitch was all up in your face at work and then was messing around with him after hours. What made her think that she wasn't going to get caught?"

I shook my head, "I don't know, but she could've at least been woman enough to tell me that they were knocking the boots. I would've been salty at first, but, at least, I would have had some respect for her."

She laid back on the sofa and sighed loudly, "Now we have to fire her unloyal ass. Summer break is in two weeks. Who's going to cover her schedule?"

"I'll worry about that. What you need to focus on is not clowning at this meeting. We have to be professional, regardless of the situation."

"I can't just turn up on her?"

"No T, strictly business."

She rolls her eyes, "Alright, but if I see that bitch on the street, she'd better have on her running shoes."

I giggle softly, "Alright Tia Ali."

------------------------------------------------

Tia and I sat next to each other behind my desk, going over next month's agenda since Lisa had yet to show up.

"What person have you ever known to be late for their own termination meeting? You might as well show up early and get the shit out of the way. Hell, you'll have the whole day to yourself after you get out," I exclaim to Tia.

She laughs loudly, "Exactly. Like damn, if you getting fired from your job AND you broke, then where the hell could you go?"

"You a fool, we're supposed to be acting professionally."

"You right, let me get my life together."

A knock on the door interrupts our conversation.

"Come in."

The door opens revealing a timid-looking Lisa and a large man standing behind her.

"Hello, Ms. Whitaker. You can have a seat."

She delicately sits in the seat adjacent to me. Her company stands behind her chair.

"And who is your guest?"

She quietly pipes up," He's just an acquaintance of mine who is here to ensure of my emotional and physical security."

"Excuse me?"

"Well, I know that when encountering a mixture of business and personal matters, it's always wise to have a witness present in case of any transgressions that might take place."

Is she serious? If I wanted to tear that ass up, I would've done so when she was playing cowgirl with Ced. Since I'm grown, let me put her in a child's place.

"Understand when I say this, I wouldn't risk my reputation or that of my business because of your personal discrepancies. Now, let's get down to why you're here. I normally do not interfere with the outside life of my employees. However, your actions not only exuded a blatant lack of respect but also the absence of loyalty and professionalism. Tell me, were my children in a conscious state when you were at Mr. Hardwick's house?"
