I'm back! These back to back jobs have been kicking my ass, but that's cool. I wanted to write on Friday since it was my birthday, but I had to work (again...). Anyway, I'm off for three days this week, so that means that I'll try to catch up on updates ASAP. The videos in this chapter will have Hybrid and Ani (Nico) in them dancing, but just replace Hybrid with Leila in your head. Alright? Cool.
Leila
"Nico, stop playing! We need to have this finished like, yesterday."
Sweat covered the back of his shirt while I stripped down to my sports bra and some basketball shorts.
Who gives a fuck about my stomach? It's hot. Like Lucifer sitting next to an open fire, eating Takis with nothing to drink but a cup of Tobasco sauce.
We've been in the studio for almost four hours trying to come up with some opening dances. Anthony took the kids over to Tia's place a few hours ago so they could stay occupied.
He mushes my head, "Leila, shut up. You know you're the main one saying that you can't figure out what to do for the rest of the dance."
I roll my eyes, "Don't you think I know that? I'm trying to get my life together. How did we figure out a dance last time?"
"I think we spent the whole time doing bullshit and just used that. We could repeat the cycle."
I tap my chin in thought, "We don't really have any other ideas, do we?"
"Guess not..."
I walk over to the speaker and turn on the mix that he had in. Turning around, I watch as he mimics Tokyo Vanity's sample with a certain type of rachetivity only he can bring to the table.
"Remember Lei, just go with it," he mumbles.
I smile, swaying widely while we wait for the beat to drop. The bass keeps us moving in sync while we dance like nobody's watching. I honestly forgot how fun it is to just come up with shit on the spot with him. At that moment, I let my worries, my pain, and sorrow go. Right here, right now I was living. Nothing else seemed to matter anymore; not Ced, not Lisa, just me and Nico.
"Get it bihh," I yell over the music.
The slick sweat continues to glide over my skin as I throw my back out for a brief moment. Our motions as fluid as if we'd never been apart.
Once he starts to walk off the floor, I take over and freestyle my ass off. Considering that we were the only ones present, I figured that I'd show off just a little bit. Trying to wipe off my face, I drop my towel and attempt to recover it by doing a split.
Nico starts to chuckle while I'm struggling to get my life together. Throwing the towel up in frustration, it lands right in front of him. He turns to me with his hands on his hips and winks.
"I'm bout ta' fuck it up," he says all too calmly.
He serves up all types of vogues in an attempt to shit on my whole career.
I guess I'm just gonna take this L like a champ.
I stand off to the side as he finishes off the song. Turning to him, I place both hands on my hips.
"So you just gon' outshine me in my place of business?"
He takes a sip of his water bottle before releasing a heavy sigh, "Pretty much."
