I loaded my suitcases and the few boxes that were available into my car. Even though my mother was being like this my father said he would keep in contact and send me some money round every week. Once I was finished loading my stuff into the back of my car, I shut the boot and turned to my father.
"Are your sure you want to do this? My brother isn't the best of parental figures" he said.
"I'll be fine. Charlie will look after me fine and anyways Bella will be there in a while" I said smiling at my father.
"Alright, just promise me that if you need anything you will call me or text, whatever is easier"
"I promise. I have to go now, Charlie is waiting for me" I said.
I hugged my father and we stood there for a minute or so. As I pulled away I saw the murderous glare of my darling mother. My father looked at where and was looking and sighed,
"Well I guess you have to go before your mother kills you with her glare" he joked.
I laughed along with him and gave him another hug. I got in my car and waved good bye to my father for the last time. I pulled out of our driveway and started the long drive towards Forks, Washington.
After the long drive down to Forks I finally arrived outside of the small house that Charlie had bought just after he had married Renee. It was still the same, a two bedroom house with the one bathroom that everyone shared. As I pulled up to the house I saw Charlie's squad car parked just outside of the house. The white wooden slates were the same dirty white colour as the had always been. I got out of my car and shut the door. The sound of my door notified Charlie as he came outside a moment later. I grinned and walked up to Charlie. He wrapped his arms around me and I buried my face in his shoulder. After a while I pulled away and took a deep breath.
"Hey Charlie" I said with a small smile on my face.
"Hey Em" he said back, "Do you want to follow me and I will show you your room. I converted the attic for you since Bella has taken the other room"
"Its okay", I said.
I grabbed my bags and Charlie grabbed the other stuff out of my car. We went inside and straight up to the attic. It was a beautiful room. There was a double be and a mirror with a desk in front of it and a small walk-in-wardrobe. Charlie left me alone with all my stuff and let me sort out my room. Once I was done it looked quite nice. I checked the time and went back downstairs to where Charlie was sat with his tea and newspaper. Sitting down on the opposite chair, I notice that his Christmas tree was still up from a week ago. I saw a small round ball that looked like it had been attacked by a three year old. It was the bauble that I had made him when I was six.
"You still have that old thing" I pointed out nodding at the tree.
Charlie looked at the tree and the ornament that sat in the middle of the tree. He smiled from the memories.
"Yeah, it is one of the only homemade things I have. Bella didn't really do that kind of thing when she was younger" he said.
He sighed and looked back at the newspaper. I knew that his daughter was a touchy subject. Bella stopped coming to see him back in 2002 and he missed her. She never really enjoyed his company but I guess she liked her dad enough to come stay with him. I bit my lip and looked around at the house.
"So when is Bella coming to stay?" I asked
"She should be here on the 17th I think. She will be starting school with you except she will be the grade below" Charlie said not looking up from his paper.
Standing up, I walked up to the kitchen side and started to make dinner. I grabbed a carrot from the fridge and cut it up. Just as I was finishing I was distracted by a rustling outside. Something was out there but before I could look pain shot through my finger and I looked down to see blood gushing from my finger. Charlie stood up and ran over to me and his eyes widen at my finger.
"Come on, I don't have medical stuff here but the medical centre is only a five minute drive from here" he said
I nodded and followed him out to his squad car. He opened the side and let me into his car.
I was sat on a bed in the medical centre with my finger still in the tissue that Charlie gave me. A man around the age of 25 walked into the room. He has pale skin and his eyes. His eyes were a golden colour.
"Hi, I'm Dr. Cullen", he said smiling at me, "What can I do today?"
I showed him my finger and he went to a cupboard and grabbed some medical equipment.
"I mean I'm not as clumsy as my cousin, Bella. She tripped over and had to get five stitches in her head", I laughed.
"Well she sounds like trouble", Dr Cullen said
"She is moving here in a few weeks, so you may wanna keep a room especially for her"
"I might have to", He laughed, "Your all patched up and ready to go now"
I hadn't even noticed that he was doing that whilst we were talking. I looked down at it and smiled.
"Thanks. Charlie gets a bit cautious about Bella and I" I said standing up and grabbing my bag. I heard a knock on the door and a woman entered the room. When I looked at her she looked like the most beautiful person in the world, as she was astoundingly gorgeous. She was tall and statuesque, with an elegant figure similar to a model's. She had long, blonde, wavy hair that went down to the middle of her back and that perfectly suited her golden eyes which was so much like Dr. Cullen's. She pushed open the door and walked in.
"Carlisle, your needed-"
She spotted me sitting on the bed and her mouth opened slightly.
"I'm sorry I didn't see you there" she said, "I'm Rosalie, Dr. Cullen's adoptive daughter"
"Uh, Emily Swan, Chief Swan's niece" I said trying not to blush.
Carlisle walked over to Rosalie and went out the door. Rosalie walked over to me and wrote down her number.
"Call me, or if you go to Forks High School I will see you there" Rosalie said before walking outside to follow Carlisle. I went to the door but couldn't hear them so I pulled it opened. They were gone. I walked out the door and went outside to were Charlie was sat.
"You all good", he asked.
"Yeah, I'm good"
