I was speechless. My baby cousin was with him. I didn't know whether to be shocked or worried. Bella was like a child; she was innocent and had no clue what she was getting herself into. I needed to talk to her now, so I said goodbye to Alice and Jasper and waved goodbye to the rest before going as fast as I could to Bella's first lesson. Awkwardly my fast was slow and so I only just caught her as Edward was leaving and she was going into class. I grabbed her shoulder and pulled her towards me.
"What are you doing with Edward Cullen?" I hissed
"I have my own free will to choose who I like," Bella frowned and crossed her arms
"But why him," I protested, "He's trouble"
"No he is not. He helped me last night," Bella's tone was getting high and I could tell she was getting angry.
"From what," I said slowly, "What happened last night?"
"None of your business," Bella said turning away. I grabbed her shoulder and she snapped.
"Just because I have a boyfriend and have friends and you're a loser not to have any of those things, does not mean that you can stop me from having a life!" Bella shouted. Suddenly she clasped a hand over her mouth.
"I am so sorr-" I stopped her, tears fell down my face as I did.
"I don't care about your damned opinions. Your spoilt and take everything to your advantage," As I turned away I added, "And for your information I am in a relationship, I have been for months now but you are too busy to notice"
I could hear Bella called my name as I walked away but I ignored it. I could feel the hot tears fall down my face as I walked to my first lesson. The bell rang just as I got there and I sat in my seat ready for another day of boring words that made no sense.
Lunch took a while to come but when it did I was so grateful to get out of lessons. I spent my lunch in the library with Rose. We sat together reading books silently. I lay against her torso my head tilted upwards slightly so I could read. I had told Rose what had happened earlier and she became sympathetic. She knew how desperate I was for Bella not to be involved in this world and that my relationship with Bella was starting to repair but that had just ruined it, like a bulldozer to a weak framed building.
After finishing the school day we headed outside towards the parking lot. I saw Edwards Volvo pull out of the car park and looked towards Rosalie's car. A group of people surrounded it and I gave a small laugh.
"Good luck," I joked heading to my car. I got in before I saw what happened with Rose's car and a moment later Alice and Jasper appeared in the back of my car.
"Are you sure your okay to drive?" Alice asked kindly trying not to sound too mother like.
"I will be fine. It isn't that long of a drive" I pointed out, starting my engine and driving to the Cullens. After I dropped them off I headed home to check in with Charlie, grab some clothes and head back to the Cullens. I basically lived there at the moment and my bed would have been covered in dust if Charlie hadn't forced me home. Luckily I didn't run into Bella as she was in her room but out of the corner of my eye I saw her watch me sadly as I drove away to see Rosalie again.
The next few days were as boring as ever. On Thursday night when I got home, Billy and Jacob Black were there and so I was forced to stay at home as according to Charlie it was impolite to leave when we had guests. They stayed for hours. I had persuaded Charlie to let me go upstairs as I wasn't in the mood for company. I wasn't really lying about that, I just wasn't into the company of Bella. I slept through the whole night and woke up to the greying sky. I got out of bed and was out the house quicker than Charlie on game days. After school I was told to take Bella home as Edward had driven her to school and was going hunting afterwards. I had unwillingly agreed and had to sit alone in my car waiting for Bella. When she finally arrived I was bored and headed off immediately. Bella had tried to start some conversation with me but I blocked her out and just turned up the radio. We got home and Bella went to the door and opened it. She let us both inside and I went straight upstairs to my room once again.
That Saturday, I stayed in as Bella went to see Edward and at the end of the night I went over to the Cullens to stay over. Just before I went out, I was forced to come downstairs and talk to them. I came downstairs when Bella was sorting out Charlie's food.
"How was your day?" She asked.
"Good. The fish were biting... how about you? Did you get everything done that you wanted to?"
"Not really - it was too nice out to stay indoors."
"It was a nice day," he agreed, "And what about you Emily? Good day?"
"I guess so," I said looking down at the plate of lasagne that Bella had heated up for me, "I stayed inside all day but I am going out later"
Bella finished with the last bite of lasagne, she lifted her glass and chugged the remains of her milk.
Charlie surprised us both by being observant. "In a hurry?"
"Yeah, I'm tired. I'm going to bed early."
"You look kind of keyed up," he noted.
"Do I?" Bella stuttered. She took in our plates and quickly scrubbed the dishes clean in the sink, and placed them upside down on a dish towel to dry.
"It's Saturday," he mused.
"No plans tonight?" he asked suddenly.
"No, Dad, I just want to get some sleep."
"None of the boys in town your type, eh?" He was suspicious, but trying to play it cool.
"No, none of the boys have caught my eye yet." I internally laughed at this as Edward popped into my mind
"I thought maybe that Mike Newton... you said he was friendly."
"He's Just a friend, Dad."
"Well, you're too good for them all, anyway. Wait till you get to college to start looking."
"Sounds like a good idea to me," Bella agreed as she headed up the stairs.
"'Night, honey," he called after her.
"See you in the morning, Dad." Bella said her voice getting further and further away. When she was gone I looked at Charlie.
"Can I go?"
"I guess so," he sighed rubbing his forehead and picking up his paper.
I got up from the table and went upstairs. I don't know for how long but at one point I fell asleep and was slightly woken by Rosalie picking me up. That night I was tired but I briefly remember Rosalie saying something about Bella and tomorrow and something to do with meeting a family I was too tired to notice and by the time I was at the Cullens I was fast asleep again.
