Chapter Six

The morning progressed as normal. I woke up to Rose either next to me or sitting by her desk; she had bought some of my clothes for me and then I would get changed and head downstairs. Once I was downstairs Esme had, as usual, prepared some breakfast for me without asking. I ate as much as I could, which was only two sausages and an egg, before headed out towards school. I noticed that Edward wasn't with us today.

"Where's Edward" I said Rosalie as we got into my car.

She shut her door and the back doors opened. Alice and Jasper had joined us. "Edward has gone to Alaska for a few days. He had a run in with a blood singer" She said plugging in her seat belt and waiting for me to start the car. I started the car up and pulled out of the garage.

"What's a blood singer?" I asked.

"Some who's blood calls out to you and it is hard to resist it" Alice said.

"It's a mate basically. If your mate is human then that's what happens," Rose explained, "So when I first saw you in the Hospital your blood called to me which I knew you were my mate from"

"That's cool," I said smiling gently at Rose.

It took the same time as normal to get to the school and I parked in the same space as always. We all got out of the car and I spotted Bella's rusty, old truck parked in the middle. The door of the truck opened and Bella got out. I let go of Rosalie's hand.

"I am going to talk to Bella, but I will see you later," I said to her kissing her cheek. Rosalie nodded and walked on past me. I trotted over to Bella and fell into step next to her.

"Hey," I said grinning at her. She looked up and smiled. She pulled out her headphones and put then away.

"Where were you yesterday?" She asked a hint of concern in her voice.

"I was staying over at my gi-," I hesitated at talking about the Cullens ,"At my friends house last night , so I gave them I lift this morning"

"That's good that you have made friends," she said

"Yeah," I said falling silent after that. As we came up to the door Bella's friend, Mick, I think, or Mike, I think it was Mike, came up to her and they walked off to English together. I sighed and walked towards my first class.

At lunch I had a detention which kept me busy for the first part of it, and hwen I got to the table they weren't there. I guessed that they had gone off to feed or something. So instead of sitting down I went out of the canteen and went to the car park. I sat on a wall and decided to phone my dad. I dialed his number and let it ring. It took three rings for him to pick up.

"Hey Emily. What's up," He asked

"I just wanted to talk"

"Okay, whats wrong"

"Nothing much. It's just that, I wish that I was home right now. I want mum to forgive me"

"You know that it will take a while, and anyways what wrong with Forks?"

"It rains 24/7 and it's like I don't even exist to Charlie since Bella came home, and she doesn't even appreciate that she has two loving parents. She looks so fed up of Charlie at the moment"

"Hey, hey, its okay. I get you want your mum to love you again but give her time. Okay?"

"Okay"

"Hun, I have to go know but I love you and don't you forget"

"Alright, Love you too," I went to hang up but he spoke again

"Just whatever happens promise me that you won't go into another state because you have a family who even though we aren't perfect family we all love you"

"I promise you dad. Now go on. You have work to do"

"Okay, bye Emily,"

The voice on the other end was replaced by the beeping of the end tone. I put down the phone and wiped one of the tears that had leaked from my eye when I was talking to him. I looked at what lessons I had later, only PE and Algebra, so I decided to leave. I wasn't really in the best state to do my lessons. I had forgotten that I was meant to be taking the Cullens home and I left the school after I had told the nurse that I need to go home. The school nurse was one of the only school staff who knew about my severe depression so she let me leave. I went to my car and drove down to Charlie's where I parked my car in the driveway and went inside. I went upstairs and fell asleep for a while until I was awoken by Bella running down the stairs and Charlie walking into the house. I guessed that Bella was quite when she came in. I decided to leave those two to have father-daughter bonding time with each other and just stay in my bedroom.

The week just went on normally. I was picked up by Rose for the rest of the week and she dropped me of home. I still hadn't seen Edward so I guessed he was still away. I hadn't talk to Bella since Wednesday and I wasn't really excited to. Usually I would come home, grab a packet rice or pasta, cook it and take it upstairs. I would sometimes finish them but sometimes I wouldn't and had to chuck a lot of it away.

The weekend was boring as I stayed inside all weekend just emailing Rosalie back and forth. I had acquired a fever and had to stay home on the Monday but on the Tuesday I persuaded Charlie to let me go to school. Sadly my car had run out of fuel and the guy wouldn't get here till later today so I got a ride with Bella. I still didn't talk to her but when she got out the car at school I lingered for a minute before opening the door. There was a sudden bang and I was thrown out the door. I felt my head hit the side of the truck door and my foot got caught on the door making a horrid noise as it did so. I knew that my heads were scratched from the stinging in my palms. I could see everyone rushing over to Bella and not seeing me at all. Slowly whist everyone was fussing over Bella, I managed to get my foot out of the door. Hissing in pain, I placed my foot onto the snowy floor and leant against the door. I placed my hand on my head and look it away to see it covered in blood. Crunch, crunch. I looked up and saw Rosalie, Jasper and Alice all standing in front of me. Rosalie came over to me and kneeled in front of me.

"How did you know I was here?" I said gritting my teeth in pain

"We could smell your blood," Rosalie said looking at my head, "Don't move. You have really hurt yourself"

"I have to get Jasper out of here<" Alice said. I looked up and saw the hunger in Jaspers eyes. Rosalie nodded and Alice led him away. My vision went fuzzy and I was losing sight.

"Hey, stay with me" I felt Rosalie touch my face, trying to keep me awake but I blacked out.

When I woke up I was in a hospital room. I could hear a conversation from the other side of the curtain. I couldn't make out what they were saying but I could here the familiar voice of Carlisle. I tried to sit up but everything hurt. I hissed in pain and let myself lay down.

It took about an hour to get me sorted. I had a short cast for my ankle which I had severely sprained. I got 4 stitches in my head and had a bandage around both my hands so it would stop the rubbing on the crutches that I had to have. I also had a small concussion. Carlisle told me to go find Charlie as I wasn't allowed to go home alone. I felt so stupid when I was discharged. I went out to the waiting room and didn't see Charlie but when I went outside he wasn't there. Maybe he couldn't get here. I went over to the receptionist.

"Has Charlie Swan been here?" I asked.

The receptionist thought for a minute, "Yes he came and left with his daughter Isabella"

"Thanks," I said. It was like someone had punched me. No one was there to look after me when I had the accident and now he had forgotten all about me. I could feel the tears dripping from my face. He could come back, I though. I sat down and waited.

I was there for ages until Carlisle walked into the room.

"Where is Charlie?" He asked

"He left with Bella," I replied not showing any emotion

"That was three hours ago," Carlisle frowned at me, "Come on I will take you home"

He led me to his car and drove me home. It was an awkward drive but one I was grateful for. Once we were outside, I thanked Carlisle and walked up to the house. Knocking on the door, I heard Charlie's footsteps. He opened the door and a face of shock plastered his face.

"Oh my lord. I am so sorry Emily," Charlie said. He may have been sorry but that wasn't good enough. I went into the house ignoring him and Bella. It took me 10 minutes to get to my room and I was out of breath by then. I lay on my bed and closed my eyes letting sleep take over.
