Chapter Nineteen

For the next few weeks I struggled as a vampire. One of the Cullens would always have to get my food for me as I still could not stand to kill. They still hadn't allowed me to see Bella or Charlie. Not even phone calls were allowed and I was being driven nuts. I had about 29 missed phone calls from Bella and god knows how many messages with in the first week and then they stopped but still no contact was allowed. They said it was for my own safety that she did not know that I was a vampire and even when I protested they still did not budge. When Edward came round with Bella, I had to leave and not come back till she was gone. The last few days I had been able to stay in the house but I was not allowed to leave it. Finally today all my restrictions where lifted.

"So I can actually leave the house?" I asked Carlisle

"Yes, but you can't go to school with the others" He said, "Only because Bella thinks your dead"

"Why would she think I am dead?" I frowned, crossing my arms

"Edward may have said that you died after the first week from head injuries"

"WHAT!" I yelled, "You told my cousin that I died. Well of course I can't do anything because everyone thinks I am dead"

I groaned and grabbed my head. "You know what I need to go" I said walking towards the door.

"Emily-" Rosalie started

"No", I said turning to face them, "I am sick and tired of your rules and regulations stopping me from doing everything and anything"

Looking at everyone's faces , I frowned and turned away from them all. I ignored the voices that followed me as I sped out the door and ran out the forest. I just wanted to be able to have freedom and not be stopped because I was a newborn. As I ran I darted through trees till I reached the end of the woods and stopped at the edge. It was only eight so if i got some contacts somewhere and could get my stuff I would be able to make it to school. Glancing around, I sped to a shop that sold contacts and bought a pair of brown ones that made my red eyes no longer red. Once I had bought these I ran to Charlie's house and checked if Bella was there. I got there and saw that she wasn't there so I would see her at school but before I left I went inside and grabbed my school bag that still stood by the door. A smile crept onto my face as I started to walk towards the school. I couldn't risk being seen so I pulled my hood up and tucked my hair into my hood. The walk was painfully long and by the time I got there is was 5 minutes till the start of homeroom so I just about managed to slip in. As the register was called my fingers drummed against the wood nervously hoping that I would still be on there. As I waited I realised that I was forgetting to make it look like I was breathing and I shook my head.

"If you wanna be here you have to blend in," I muttered to myself.

"Emily Swan," The teacher called and expected no answer she carried on, "Mar-"

"Here" 

The teacher looked up at me in shook, "Oh we were told you weren't coming back and that you were taking your exams at home because of how ill you were"

A few seats scraped away from me 

"No I am good now," I said giving her a grin, "It was just the flu, an overreaction from my family". I let a laugh through my lips and the teacher gave a non believing smile before carrying on. If my heart was still beating it would have reached a unnatural speed but it wasn't so I was good. Once homeroom was over I followed the crowd towards my first lesson which I did not shared with any of the Cullens, I didn't think I had any lessons with them apart from the last ones. I directed myself towards English and got myself mentally ready for school.

Once break came around I was already done for the day but I knew I had to get to Bella. I darted between students and ran as fast as I could without using speed towards her class. There was no other vampires around when I got there and as soon as I saw Bella with her boot I walked over to her.

"Bella," I said in a low voice

"Em?!" A face of shock appeared on Bella

"Follow me,"

"They told me you were dead. No contact, nothing. Charlie-"

"Bella follow me please," I pleaded.

Surely enough Bella followed me to a spot behind the school and away from the vampires.

"Text Edward that you need to do some revision or some excuse so he won't look for you," I said. Bella was about to speak but then I said, "And then I will explain"

Bella didn't say anything but started to type on her phone and soon she nodded, "Okay he said he will wait for me at the table but will come looking for me in 20 minutes"

"Now explain," Bella said sitting down on a bench

"Okay so I was turned as I suffered too much damaged to survive," I started

"So you're a vampire?!" Bella's voice rose

"Yes now shh," Bella muttered an apology and I continued, "So they took me back and they waited for me to turn and when I did they made me write I letter to you and Charlie saying I wont be coming back. But I guess it never got to you. Anyways, they refused to let me go out because of it and my gift left me unable to hunt and go outside,"

"Gift?" Bella asked

"I feel other peoples pain, physical and mental, animal or human, and I can also give out pain. Every time someone hurts themselves I feel the pain and it sucks. But let me continue, so I found out this morning when they said I could go out that you thought I was dead and I couldn't see you so I ignored them and left because I needed to see you,"

Bella looked shooked, "They kept youy away from me? Why"

"Because Edward thought I would hurt you," I said looking at my feet. I felt an arm come round me and I looked at Bella.

"They can't keep us apart forever," She said smiling

"Thanks Bells,"

"Now what do we do now?"

"I can't go back not if they are going to lock me up aga-"

A shooting pain filled me and I let out a scream

"EM!" Bella's eyes widened as I fell to the floor in pain and curled up into a ball. The pain was horrible and soon there was more pain up my arms and legs.

"I have to go," I managed to go out still curled in a ball, "Some is fighting or they are playing violent football"

"No Em-" 

But I was already running away from her and the pain was going away. As I ran I saw the Cullens appeared and I kept running far away into the woods.

A/N - Its been a long time since an update so here you go. There will not be a sequel at the moment and this book will be finishing in a few chapters or maybe next chapter. I want to know if I should finish it on a cliffhanger or end it happily. The choice is yours. Before I next update I would like at least 10 votes and 5 comments. I know it somes silly but since I have reached 7k reads and nearly 400 votes I kind of want more that 2 comments but if you can't be asked then its okay because I will hopefully update within a week.
