Chapter Seventeen

Emily's POV

Darkness. It was the last thing before the pain. It was excruciating and it wouldn't stop. I felt like I was being burned alive over and over again for days. Everything hurt so much, I just wanted to die but Rosalie's words repeated in my head

"I need you to try and survive. I need you to do whatever you can to survive"

So I did. I fought against the pain and ignored the comments that were telling me that I could let go. Although it was like a never ending black hole of pain I crawled through it. Every so often I would feel spurts of pain but then the would go. Finally after what had seemed like forever the pain stopped and the blindfold like darkness removed itself from my sight . I blinked. I pushed myself up and gazed around at the room. All of the writing on the books was so clear it was like I was reading it from over there. I could see the leaves on the tree quiver in the breeze and I could see every single line on the tree. Footsteps made there way towards me and I glanced at the person.

"Rosalie," I grinned running over to her and placing my arms around her breathing in the familiar smell.

"How am I alive?" I asked taking a step back and frowning

"Your one of us now," I bit my lip gently and though about what had just been said.

"What do you mean one of us?" Although I was asking I had figured it out already.

"You're a vampire," Rosalie said taking my hand and leading me towards the small mirror that was on the wall.

I gasped at the sight in front of me. No more was the fragile, weak, thin girl. But instead a girl with pure red eyes, a full face and delicate features. I placed my hands on my face and stroked it. It was amazing, I had never felt more alive. Turning to face Rosalie, I grinned and kissed her on the lips with no second thought.

"I love you," I said placing my forehead on hers

"I love you too," Rosalie said, "Now come on, you have to feed"

A burning sensation in the back of my throat was summoned as she said this and I nodded. Rose grabbed my hand and walked me outside before we ran. Never had I ever though I would run like this. I wasn't tired at all and I felt amazing, no having to stop to breath or anything. Soon enough we came to a stop and a deer appeared in front of us.

"Just jump on it and bite," Rosalie instructed, "Do you want me to show?"

"No," I said, "I can do this"

I crouch down low getting ready to pounce on the deer. Pushing off my back legs I punched on it and bit into its neck. A searing pain shot through me and I stumbled off it, the pain still occupying my head. Both the deer and I ran in opposite directions. I ran till I got to the house and moments later Rosalie appeared.

"What happened?" She asked concerned.

"It hurt," I explained, "Was it supposed to hurt?"

"No," Rosalie frowned, "Stay here I will be right back"

I nodded and sat there for a moment looking up at the sky. Watching the clouds drift past relaxed me and after a while Carlisle appeared in front of me.

"Explain to me what happened," Carlisle said crouching to my level

"Well I was hunting and as I bit the deer..." I didn't really have any other words, "It was like I was being bitten, like I was feeling its pain"

"I think we need to get the Denali's to pay a visit" Carlisle said to Rose

"Who are they Denali's" I asked standing up and facing them

"They are another coven like ours who feeds on animal blood," Carlisle explained, "Eleazer, he has the gift of Abilitiy Detection. So if your pain is caused by a gift he will know"

"Some gift if it is," I huffed, "Stopping me from feeding"

"I will go get you a dead animal to cure your hunger," Rosalie said kissing my hand and running off into the forest

I stared at Carlisle for a moment, "When can I see Bella?" I asked

"Not for a while," Carlisle said, "You need to get your thirst under control"

Rosalie appeared with a dead deer and handed it to me. I dug my teeth in slowly and when no pain came from it I blissfully drunk the deer dry. Dropping the deer on the floor, I closed my eyes and grinned.

"Now you are sorted, you need to get your stuff from Charlies," Rosalie said.

My smile drooped, "What?"

"You can't live with two humans in your state," Carlisle said

"But they are my family," I complained

"We can't risk it," Rosalie said.

I glared at her and huffed loudly. "Fine"

Within seconds I was at my car and turning on the engine. Rose appeared beside me and together we drove to my old house. I sat in silence for a moment before I went inside. Charlie wasn't home so we couldn't have any accidents. We got out the car and spent 10 minutes clearing out my stuff. My room looked totally bear after clearing it out. Once we were done I left a note for Charlie

Dear Charlie,

I am moving out. Well I have moved out but I am going to live with the Cullens. As my 18th approaches I realise that I am a burden to this house so I have decide to move out. I will still have contact but we all feel that it is best if I move to the Cullens. Please don't think that I hate you. I don't. So I bid you farewell and give Bella my love.

I placed the note on the table and went out to where Rosalie was putting stuff into my car.

"All done?" She asked placing her hands on the back of my car and balancing there. I nodded and helped her put my stuff in the car. Once we were done I shut the boot and went to the front of my car. Before I got in I looked at the house for a minute. I had memories here ones that couldn't be replaced by anything. I sighed and got into the car driving back to the Cullens
