"Hey Pheobs!" Gemma greeted.

"Hey."

"Aw, what's wrong? Something the matter?"

"Nothing really. It's just that, remember I keep telling you that someone or something's always following me?"

"Yeah? What about it?"

"Well, I feel like it's not there anymore."

"What do you mean?"

"Like, I woke up this morning and my room feels empty, like something's changed."

"Okay?"

"It's like he's not there anymore." Phoebe' s face fell.

"Aw, Phoebe! Maybe you're just overreacting!"

"Maybe I am. I hope so."

"Well, I've got great news for you!"

"Really? What's that?"

"Ashton was kicked out of school!"

"What?"

"Bryana finally told the principal about his "bad habits."

"Well, serves him right."

After uni she drove by the church to light up a candle, well, just for the fun of it. It was the way the fire sways from side to side in sync with the wind or how it somehow burns brighter if you stare at it. She placed the candle at one of the holders and prayed to God for thanksgiving and basically just summing up her day. God admired her; maybe she did remember what He told her.

"I'm sorry, is this candle taken?"

Phoebe turned around and was met with a lanky boy with blond hair, blue eyes, a three day old scruff, and a lip ring. He was dressed in black, but oh, do his eyes make up for it.

"Uh, n – no."

"Okay, thank you."

The boy then proceeded to light his candle, struggling at the process. Maybe he's never used a match before, she thought.

"I'm sorry; I'm so clumsy at matches. My hands are always sweaty."

"It's fine. I can help you?"

"Please." He pleaded.

Phoebe lit the match and lit the candle, stealing glances at the beautiful boy in front of her while doing so.

"There you go."

"Thank you." He placed the candle in the holder and said a few prayers to himself. God, was he adorable. "I'm Luke, by the way."

"Phoebe."

"Phoebe, that's a nice name. Did you know that in the bible, the name Phoebe means shining, or pure."

"Oh, really? I just thought my parents named me Phoebe from F.R.I.E.N.D.S."

"Well, she's an interesting character as well, can't deny that!"

"Yeah, she is." She smiled.

"So, I'm fairly new to this town, do you mind showing me around? If it's not much of a trouble to you."

She couldn't exactly deny his offer, because, Hell, he was gorgeous, but, he was also a stranger.

"Come on, I'm not a murderer or anything like that."

"No! It's not that!" She blushed. It's like he can read her mind. "I just, well, let me just call my mom real quick, okay?"

"Okay. Oh, we don't have to go now! Maybe when you're free, like on the weekends."

"Oh, okay, then. Okay."

"Great! Here, here's my number, call me when you're free." Luke hands her a piece of paper.

"Oh, okay."

"Well, Phoebe, I best be going. See you around?"

"See you around, Luke." They both waved goodbye and parted ways. There was something about that boy that ignited sparks inside her. The way he pronounces her name, how he looks at her, how it all seemed like home to her. And he couldn't help but feel butterflies in his stomach. How he thought he was going to spend the rest of eternity in Hell, how he thought he was permanently ripped apart from his other half.
