Paradox

How paradoxical it is to be in love with life,
Yet being too afraid to live it.
Wanting to feel every emotions there is
And ending up choosing to be empty,
Trying all the things that can change you,
To finally use them to forget who you are.
Loving people, but pushing them away,

This love and this fear are like the feeling,
That you get on the edge of a cliff,
Right when your feet have left the floor.
You're floating in the air, finally free,
Your eyes and mind full of the sunset in front of you,
But you're already thinking about the ground,
That under you, soon you will crash on.

It must be what life is about :
Enjoying the fall,
While still knowing that in the end
You will get hurt,
And may die.
