My heart felt like it had exploded into pieces and I couldn't hold it back. I squealed and ran away crying. Jake was my only love and I just wished that he could've loved me back. I ran and ran all the way to the library, my usual quiet place, and sobbed into my jacket. I guess Jake knew it was my quiet place, too, because he walked in not too long after me.

"Are you okay? What happened back there?" asked Jake

"Nothing, it doesn't matter" I said, looking up at him with mascara running down my cheeks.

"Come on, tell me. We're friends."

"Well, it's just that..I can't say it"

"Here, wipe off your face and then try to explain" said Jake as he handed me a tissue

"Thanks." I wiped off the smudgy mascara with the tissue.

"Oh, you have some mascara left there" Jake said pointing to my cheek.

"Oh, my gosh. Where?" I said pretty embarrassed.

"Here" said Jake, and then he kissed me. Lip to lip, kiss.

I pulled away from his kiss. I couldn't do that. He has a girlfriend.

"I can't. You have a girlfriend. She kissed you on the cheek." I said. Jake just chuckled.

"Why are you laughing? I can't let you cheat on your girlfriend."

"That wasn't my girlfriend. That's my sister. She's new here and she wanted to thank me for showing her the school, so she gave me a kiss. I don't have a girlfriend. Yet." said Jake.

"Oh. well, in that case." I said. Then, I kissed him on the lips for a few seconds.

"So, you're my girlfriend, now?" asked Jake

"Yeah, I guess I am."

"Well, we should exchange numbers. It sounds stupid, but we do need to contact each other."

"Yeah" I said as we typed our numbers into one another's phone. The bell rang just as we finished typing our numbers. We gave each other our phones back and headed off home.
