The next morning, I woke up and looked at the clock. It was 8:00. I barely had time to get ready! Today was my and Jake's first day of High School here in Florida. As fast as I could, I took a shower, changed, ate breakfast, brushed my teeth, and got ready to go.
I had on my wheeled boots and I skated all the way to school, which was only a few blocks away. When I saw the school, I immediately knew what this was gonna be like. It was one of those schools that would be all smiles and ditzy-ness. I looked like the kind of girl that would be glad to be there, but really, I hated the school the first second I saw it.
I retracted the wheels on my boots and walked through the front doors. The inside of the building was exactly how I thought it'd be. Mint green walls that made me feel disgusting and all the lockers were either purple or blue!
Now, don't get me wrong, my favorite color is purple, but this shade was the worst shade of purple of all!! The lockers all looked like giant bruises! But that was okay. As long as I could walk the halls with a cool guy like Jake!
I went to the main office, where I saw Jake sitting in one of the plastic chairs. He asked why I was late. "I slept in, sorry for leaving you waiting."
"That's okay, I just played Temple Run on my iPhone."
We walked up to the front desk and picked up our schedules and locker combinations. We looked at our locker numbers, and figured out that we didn't have lockers next to each other.
"Oh, darn it. I guess we won't be near each other. I'll walk you to your locker, Emily."
I just nodded my head in a slow manner. I was seriously disappointed that we weren't able to talk that much. As we walked, we checked our schedules. We had Math, Chemi, and Bi together. 3 of the worst subjects to be romantic in. Unless you decide to kiss each other in the midst of dissecting a frog. Then sure, that would work. But not for me.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The day went by pretty fast. Jake and I chatted during the few periods of class we had together. Small talk, mostly. Other than that, it was just about algebra, the human body *hack*, and which chemicals to mix together. It wasn't that romantic.
The last bell rung right after French, and I got out of there as fast as I used to at my old school. On my way out the huge, metal double-doors, I bumped into some girl. Who was that girl in particular? Cara freaking Jones.
{AUTHOR'S NOTE: BAUM BAUM BAUM!!! So suspenseful! Hope you enjoyed some longer chapters, and I hope you enjoy the story itself}
