Sunday turned to Monday and I had to go back to school. I had to face Cara, a nervous Jake, and a shy Hunter. I rode my bike to school and reluctantly entered the building.
As I walked through the halls, everybody was staring at me and whispering to each other. I continued on down to my locker, trying to ignore all the eyes fixed on me. I opened it and placed my bag in it and was surprised to see Cara behind the locker door.
"So, I see you found a new lover, you slut."
"What?" I had no idea what she was talking about. "If anything, I've lost one."
"Oh, really? Because, some of my crew saw you at the library, making out with some guy. Says you're some sort of a couple."
"WHAT?! I am in no sort of relationship! Now, please just leave me alone!" I speed-walked down the halls, in the direction of my classes, until I saw Hunter.
"What rumors have you been spreading?!" I pinned his shoulders to the tile walls. For a small girl, I did surprisingly good at pinning him.
"What-what do you mean?"
"I mean, that people think we're a couple!"
"WHAT?!"
"Don't act surprised. You were the one who spread the rumor."
"I did no such thing!"
'Well, what are we supposed to do? I mean, we're not in a relationship."
"Well, it doesn't have to be a lie."
"This is not the time to be flirting with me!" Pondering what to do about this wouldn't be the right time to flirt. But, it was kinda cute that he was trying.
"Haha, sorry. Well, if people think that we're a couple, then, why don't we make make them believe in it."
Wait, was he insisting that we become a couple?
"Hmm. That's...not a bad idea."
"So, you agree?"
Well, what was the worst that could happen? He really seemed to love me. But so did Jake.
"Well, my answer is....."
{Author's Note: What do you think Emily is going to say? Also, was this short too? Ah man, it was short! Well, happy 4th of July!}
