Chapter 2

Standing at the edge of the pavement was a small crowd of people. I was a little off edge about, ‘the entire army’ but I wasn’t exactly wrong. Jacinta did have me guarded.

Such a nice friend isn’t she?!

Luckily the weather didn’t ruin my day; it was actually beautiful.

I live in Sighnagi, where the sun barely shines on our doorstep. It’s a really frosty area in Georgia. With the constant rainfall and surrounding nature, we could be pictured as a deserted rainforest rather than a small town to the naked eye.

Everyone there turned to face us when the door crashed.

I nudged Jacinta.

I thought it would just be her, me and Selena but boy was I wrong.

“You aren’t escaping,” she whispered. “I have this place secured.”

I groaned.

And I thought my perfect day was just starting, seems like it had ended when I thought the worst was over.

Jacinta released her hold of me after her comforting words. I looked around feeling awfully anxious. I was certainly the only one here wearing a blank face.

This is definitely what you call ‘surprise!’

After several seconds of shock, my eyes focused itself on a tall, short haired chick. It was Selena! I could identify her any day. Her infamous hair and her beautiful features would always give her away.

I ran to Selena and hugged her.

“You’re here!” I squealed.

“I wouldn’t miss your birthday ever,” she replied.

“What were you doing for Jacinta before?”

“Invitations,” she admitted.

“Why wasn’t I informed?”

“Couldn’t wake you up, it was sort of a secret then.”

I yawned again.

“Besides you were still sleeping.”

“And you weren’t?” I asked.

“I was! Until Jacinta crept into my room like a pervert,”

We laughed.

“Well that’s me!” Jacinta cheerfully added. “You know you love me.”

Selena giggled, “I’ll pass on that.”

“Ugh, you wish!”

Jacinta chuckled.

“Okay, I still don’t get everything! Why the commotion?” Selena questioned facing Jacinta.

“I have no clue what’s going on,” I confessed.

“You’re not supposed to!” Jacinta shouted. “It’s a surprise.”

“Ahem.” I coughed. She really did surprise me.

”You’ll get answers in a second, I’m lost myself.”

I turned to Jacinta directly not needing to follow Selena’s eye.

“Seriously?” I asked as I motioned towards the boys who stood there patiently having a talk of their own.

“Well, we wanted to celebrate your birthday!”

I grumbled. “Sure, sure.”

“We did!” Jacinta squealed.
