Chapter 5
I wasn’t sure what this feeling was, but it felt nice. There was no weight in me. Like a feather I floated. Nothing was holding me down.
I looked around me. There was nothing in sight. I looked up and then down.
I panted.
There were dead bodies lying everywhere.
Mountains of lifeless bodies and familiar faces were staring right back at me with big, bold, eyes. They all held that scared expression on their pale faces, like Mandy Pennington did.
I fell down from the clouds and landed on the red dyed grass next to the dead.
I trembled.
Rapid tears were streaming down my face.
I wiped it away with the sleeves of my loose blue long sleeved nightgown.
This is impossible, I thought. It can’t happen.
“It’s true. They are all dead.” A light voice echoed.
I looked everywhere but there was nobody alive.
“It can’t be,” I shouted back to the thin air.
“Accept the facts.”
“This is all phony!”
‘It’s real,”
“Who did this?” I asked.
“This is how it will be. The human race will come to an end. Only you can save them now.” The voice hummed.
“What do you mean?”
“This is the future but your kind will not live to see this day. The end of humanity is near.”
“No it isn’t. You’re such a liar.”
“I am telling you the truth.” She whispered. “I am your friend not your foe.”
“Who are you and what do you want from me?”
“I am here to guide you.” The voice sang. “The human race would cease to exist in the following year.”
“What are you saying?”
“There will be no humans walking the earth in 2012 all species would fall. They will take out everything.”
“Who are they?”
“You have to destroy them all before they kill your kind.”
“Who are you referring to?” I demanded.
“They are the deadliest creatures preying on humans. They are –”
“Stop,” A deep, voice grumbled. “You cannot tell her more, she has to learn for herself. It is all up to you Amethyst.”
“How do you know my name? Who are you? And who are they?” I shouted. “How am I going to save them if you don’t tell me anything?”
“You have to fulfill your destiny. Good luck.” They whispered.
“No, come back!”
I froze.
Right before my very own eyes was my beloved sister.
“Shelly!” I screamed. I stared at her pale face. My sister was gone. Who would do such a thing?
Tears that I held back before came pouring down like droplets of sparkling rain.
“Help!” a small voice squeaked.
I stood up and followed the sound.
I gasped.
