Chapter 7

The night went by, slowly and the clock kept ticking. I woke up from my unconsciousness in the middle of the night. There was no way I could get some sleep.

‘You have a message’ my phone alarmed me.

I searched for it from under my pillow. I had recharged it and stuffed it around here when I came home where is it now?

The solid, cold touch off something was in the grip of my hands, gotcha.

The bright light stung my eyes at first.

I tapped read, and the light flickered.

SOS @ cemetery now!

I panicked. It wasn’t because of the strange number nor was it because it was in the middle of the night but because when I called the anonymous number – almost immediately – nobody answered.

Despite the time or the place I had to check it out. With the worst possible thought in my mind I was up before my muscles started moving.

I jumped out of bed and shoved into the jeans that I wore to dinner and the first warm piece of item I found. After wearing my white woolen coat, I looked for shoes. The closest thing I got to sneakers were high heel boots, luckily I can run in heels. I grabbed my keys then paced outside.

The clink, clank, clash, of the dangling bracelet, was all I heard when I ran my heart out to the old cemetery downtown.

The incident I witnessed at the dusty graveyard was unexplainable, indescribable, and completely abnormal.

An unfamiliar girl in tracksuits was standing in the middle of the necropolis fighting a monster!

The monster had olive rotten skin, and really bad teeth.

I wasn’t scared of the thing at all. There was no need for the commotion. I stood there silently observing the scene, confused of the lot even after seeing it with my own eyes.

The monster was three heads greater than the girl but she seemed to know what she was doing.

“Hello, you must be Amethyst.” She said once the creature was lying on the floor.

There was a warm, cuddly feeling bursting from within my body. It made me stand still. It made me trust the girl right in front of me.

“Hi …” I said faintly not knowing her name.

“It’s Krissy.”

I smiled weakly.

“Sorry, I’m in a little mess now. I’ll explain everything later.”

“Who are you?”

“I’m Kristina Feint.”

“What are you?” Taking out a monster 3 entire feet taller than her required an identity. Like a superhero, I mean superwoman.

“Don’t you know what I am?” she asked. She was somewhat confused too.

I shook my head.

“Are you Amethyst White?”

I nodded.

“Oh, that’s right, clumsy me.” She said to herself.

“What?”

“You’re watcher died so you still don’t know anything. You’re a newbie,” she laughed. “A special occasion, that’s why I’m sent here to teach you some things until your new watcher arrives,”
