8. Is It Hot In Here...Or Is It Just Me?

I walked into school on Monday, late as usual. I walked down the hall to my locker where Gaige, Halle and my brothers were waiting on me. As I made it to my locker, Gaige wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close to his chest.

"Morning, babydoll," he said in my ear, kissing me on the cheek.

"Hey, Gaige," I said turning in his arms to kiss him back, but on the lips this time. Before I could get really into kissing him, someone started clearing their throat.

When I turned around, Halle had her hands folded looking up at the ceiling. "Aria, do you have something to say to your bestest friend in the whole wide world? Huh huh huh?"

I stared really hard at her, blatantly not saying anything about her birthday, which happened to be today. "Good morning..?"

She looked at me shocked, "Aria!"

"I know, I know! Happy birthday, Halle," I said handing her the wrapped box that I had inside my bag. "You didn't really think I would forget your birthday did you?"

She ripped the paper off of the box and just stared with her mouth gaping. "Aria, you didn't," she said, looking up at me and then back at the box.

I chuckled, "Oh, but I think I did."

Noah looked over Halle's shoulder and back up at me. "What's so special about a pair of shoes?"

Halle slowly turned to look at him like he was mentally challenged. "These," she paused for dramatic effect, "are not just shoes. They are limited edition, hot pink, Jimmy Choo peep toe pumps," she said picking one up out of the box and looking at them.

"The very same ones you saw in the window three months ago," I added in. She squealed and wrapped her arms around me, causing almost everyone in the hall to look over at us.

"They'll go perfect with my dress tonight, which reminds me...you have to go to the pack house with me today to help me get ready for tonight and help me hand out these today," she said handing me the invitations to her moonlight ritual tonight. "Gaige, of course you are invited."

"Thanks, Halle. I'll be there," he said and kissed me on the cheek. "Come on, I'll walk you to class."

"Alright. I'll see you guys later," I said and walked to class with Gaige.

I breathed a sigh of relief when I had finally finished handing out Halle's invitations. I had leaned my head against my locker and took in another deep breath when Gaige walked up beside me and pulled me into his arms. I sighed and pushed more into his chest, both me and my wolf contented.

"Long day," Gaige asked with a small half smile.

I sighed again, "You have no idea," I said and threw my arms around his neck, smiling tiredly. I pushed up on my tip toes and kissed him lightly on the lips.

Just as Gaige started to deepen the kiss, Halle came running down the hall and grabbed a hold of my arm, effectively jerking me away from him. "Come on, you'll have time to makeout at the party tonight! Right now we have to get ready," she yelled and started pulling me down the hall.

Gaige watched her pulling me down the hall, laughing. "I'll see you tonight," I yelled and he nodded and waved. Finally, she got me out of the school and walked over to my car. "Where's your car," I asked her as she got into the passenger side of mine.

"I made your brothers take it back to the pack house at lunch today," she said simply and I laughed, pulling out of the parking lot and heading towards the pack house.
