After a couple more hours, the concert ended and to be honest, I was ready to leave. Gaige grabbed my hand and pushed our way through the crowd out in front of the stadium. "So, did you have fun?"
"Yes," yawn "it was" yawn "great." Yawn.
He laughed at me and smiled, "Come on, lets get you to the truck," he said and wrapped his arm around my waist. I yawned again and leaned into him, but when I did, the mating shocks woke me straight up. When we finally got to the truck, my mind was in a million different places. Should I just accept him? I mean I really did like him, but it was scaring me how much I liked him. But it shouldn't. He's my mate for God's sake!
I was snapped out of my thoughts by Gaige telling me that we had arrived at the apartment. He came around and opened the door for me, grabbing our things at the same time. As he led me inside the building, my mind strayed back to whether or not I should just let myself like, maybe even love, him. We walked over to an elevator and stepped inside. As the doors closed the elevator music started and I will forever accredit many of my decisions that night to that song.
"Can you find the time, to let your lover love you, he only wants to show you the things he wants to learn too. The hardest parts you'll get through, and in the end you'll have your best friend..."
I was silent.
The doors to the elevator opened and we walked out. "Gaige did you pay any attention to that song that was playing in the elevator," I asked him and he looked at me a little confused.
"There was a song playing?"
I laughed and shook my head. "Yes, Gaige. There was."
"Oh, we'll what about it then?"
"Nothing," I said and went back to being uncharacteristically quiet. Just thinking about the song that I heard. Finally, we got to the apartment and Gaige opened the door.
It was a simple, but very elegant and nice place. The walls were tan and the furniture was cherrywood and white. There was a large window on one wall, giving us a view of the city. Gaige sat the bags down and looked over to me. "You hungry?"
"Yeah. Chinese?"
"Sure," he said and went to call one of the many carry out places. I pulled one of the pillows down off the couch and sat down on the floor. I picked up my phone and started flipping through Pandora when Gaige came and sat down on the floor beside me. "Food should be here in a minute," he said smiling.
As I looked at him, I felt the butterfly's in my stomach that all teenage girls say they got when they first fell I love. I continued to flip through the stations on Pandora til I found one that was acceptable while Gaige went to get the food at the door. When he came back, he handed me my food and we started eating. I was content I until I got bored. "You know what we should do?"
"What," Gaige said looking at me curiously.
"We should play the song game."
"What the hell is the song game?"
"You know, when you say like...well, I'll just demonstrate. Ok, whatever song that plays next is....me and Halle's song," I said and turned on the station. Me and Gaige both burst out laughing when the intro to Thrift Shop started. "See it's funny," I said through a laugh and he nodded.
"Yeah, it is. Ok ok, my turn. Ummm, I'm going to say you and...Holly," he said smirking and I narrowed my eyes and let the song play. Misery Business by Paramore. Ha. Ironic.
"Fits," I said and he laughed.
"Yeah, it does. Ok, um, let this next one be.....me and you," he said and I agreed. I flipped to the next song and it didn't start right off, so I looked down at the title.
