CALUM HOOD'S NEW GIRL: HOLLY CHRISTINE

I panicked when I picked up the magazine on the dining room table, fearful that Shay has seen it already. I haven't gotten the chance to explain to her what's going on, and when she sees this she's going to explode.

She'll be angry because I went off on her as to how she's better off without a guy like Calum Hood and then I go and take a job to pretend to be his girlfriend.

God, I am such a hypocrite.

I quickly snatch the magazine and crumple it up, throwing it in the garbage bin.

I retreat back to my bedroom, checking my phone. It was currently nine in the morning and I had a meeting soon with Rick and the boys. You would think that pretending to be the girlfriend of an egotistical yet quite wise man would get me some perks such as not waking my sleepy ass up to go to a meeting that will provide me information as to how to put up with said egotistical yet quite wise man.

Yes, even though I dislike him very much so, I think Calum is kind of clever in his own ways and interpretations. Like how he was saying that everyone is selfish. I understand it now; for example, some people compliment others to make other people feel good about themselves, which makes them feel good knowing they benefited someone else.

So yeah, I guess I kind of agree with him that everyone is selfish.

But I still think he's a jerk.

I logged onto my Twitter and noticed that my account has gotten over 1,000 followers overnight. It makes me wonder how they got my name so quickly. It kind of frightens me.

Maybe their fanbase is the F.B.I.

"Holly fucking Christine!"

The sound of Shay's angry tone made me almost crap my pants. Dammit, I think she found out.

"Yes..." I reply, too scared to leave my room to face her wrath.

But she comes to me instead, opening my door wide open. She holds out a magazine with a familiar headline and shoves it in my face. "What the hell is this?"

"Well, most people these days would call it a magazine..." I say in a small voice.

"How did this happen?" she shouts at me. "I thought you hated him!"

"I do," I said, not knowing how to calm her down.

"So why the fuck are there pictures of you holding his hand and being shown as his girlfriend?" Shay screamed, then gasped. "Wait. Did you lie so you can have him all to yourself, because you secretly liked him? Fuck you, Holly!"

"No!" I yell frantically. "It's not like that!"

"Well it sure as hell looks like it!" she spat and storms out of my room.

I follow her quickly. "Where did you even find the magazine?"

"There's millions of shops in New York City that sells magazines, Holly." She rolled her eyes. "I thought you were my best friend."

"I am!" I say defensively. It annoyed me a little how she'd always jump to conclusions, but I can't blame her. "I have an explanation for all of this, I swear."

She crosses her arms. "Then explain."

I opened my mouth to speak when I saw the time; shit, I was going to be late for the meeting.

"Uh, I can't right now..." I say sheepishly. "But I will explain when I come back, I promise."

"Whatever," Shay grumbles, stomping away from me and going into her room, slamming the door.
