A/N:
Wooo. This story's been on for a year and a bit and all of the reads, votes and comments I've gotten have been entirely worth the wait! Excuse any grammar and spelling errors, I'm still going through it all but it's more or less okay for reading.
Enough talk from me, get reading and enjoy :3
Lissa's POV
The forest is dark and gloomy, as usual. There's a full moon in the sky with no clouds or starts in sight. Standing in front of me is a hunched-over figure. It takes a step towards me and is immoble for a second.
Then, it runs towards me at full speed. There's nothing I can do. I can't run, I can't do anything. It's like I'm paralyzed. Then, the thing leaps up at me and the last thing I catch a glimpse of is sharp teeth and dangerous yellow eyes.

I wake up drenched in sweat. I'd been having the same dream every night for the past two weeks. I glance over at my alarm clock and my heart plumets into my stomach when I notice the time and how very late I am.
“Shit!” I leap out of bed. I throw open my wardrobe and hurriedly dress myself in a Bullet for my Valentine t-shirt, a pair of black jeans and I tug on my purple Converse shoes. I run a hairbrush through my course dark blonde hair hair and charge downstairs, through the front door and out on to the street.
Now I really have to run. I dodge strangers on the street and at one point I nearly crash straight into a lamp post. See? School is a hazard to us all. After a few minutes of running I arrive at school, out of breath and sweaty. Great. I charge down the hallways and, eventually, reach my form room.
“And where have you been?” Mrs. Thomson snarls at me. I smile angelically and sit down at the back next to my best friend, Nadine.
“Where’ve you been?” Nadine whispers.
“Overslept,” I hiss back.
The day progresses on and I’m finally back home and, of course, there’s nobody home.
My foster parents are either working or out drinking. I’m fine being home alone, I can blare Bullet for my Valentine as loud as I want to. They're really how Nadine and I became such great friends. We were both wearing BFMV t-shirts on our first day of Secondary school and we haven't left one another's sides since.
Darkness starts to seep in and I’m a little worried now. I ponder the idea of going out on the streets to investigate where the hell my parents are. Before I can stop myself, I grab my jacket and head out on to the streets. I start by poking my head through the door to Foxy, the local pub. No sign of my parents.
“Hey you,”
A drunken, slurred voice says behind me. I turn around and standing there is a man who looks fortyish. He grabs my wrist and I try to pull away.
“Don’t try and run from me, girlie. I won’t bite you,” He grins manically. I kick him and start running. He yells something at me and I can hear a whole gang of them behind me. I race down the streets, not caring who I crash into. I can hear them getting closer and I duck into an alleyway. Big mistake. There’s some kind of drug dealing going on.
“What ‘ave we here?” The leader says unpleasantly. I try to run away but they’ve got me. Then there’s a sudden cry of pain from one of the druggies. In the glow of one of the street lights, I see him crumpled on the ground, lying in a pool of blood.
“The hell?” One of the druggies ask, confused. Then more of them are going down, each one with blood dripping from their necks. Then it’s just the leader but he seems able to dodge the blows from whatever creature is killing of the other druggies. He waves his knife wildly in the air, slashing at thing randomly. I feel a sharp pain in my stomach and soon another pain on my forehead. I put my hand up to my head and very nearly faint when my hand comes away all bloody.
“Aw...did I get you?” The leader says with mock kindess. He’s about to stab me again when I see a figure behind him. The figure grabs the leader in a headlock and begins choking him. After a while, he collapses to the ground. Dead. Or at least unconcious. I hope he’s dead.
“Are you alright?” My saviour asks me gently.
“F-f-fine. Who are you?” I stammer. The figure steps out into the light. He has long brown hair, pale skin, light blue eyes, muscles and there’s something familiar about him.
My eyes widen in shock. It’s Matthew Tuck, lead singer in Bullet for my Valentine. Matt notices the look on my face and laughs. When he does, a catch a glimpse of his teeth. They’re pure white and they look sharper than normal. Weird...
“I was wondering if you’d recognise me,” Matt smiles again. He's joined by Padge, the lead guitarist. He looks about twenty times paler.
“Did you-?” Padge begins.
“No,” Matt quickly cuts Padge off. Padge nods his head. His eyes have a weird tint to them, almost as if they're...red.
“You’re eyes...” I begin.
“You're delusional," Matt insists. "You're imagining his eye colour,"
"But if Moose or Jay appear," Padge bites his lip, and I catch a glimpse of sharp, fang-like teeth.
"They won't. It's not Moose's time yet. I left them in the old bakery,"
“Would you mind explaining what’s going on?” I ask them, confused. Matt and Padge exchange a look.
“If Moose or Jay turn up we won’t have too,” Padge tells me after a while.
“Why? What’s happened to them?”
"Nothing has. You're delusional, remember?" Matt sounds more like he's trying to convince himself as well as me.
I let out a low groan and clutch my stomach and my hand comes away covered in dark red.
“What’s going on?” Padge sounds alarmed.
“My stomach. He knifed me there,” I mumble. My vision is going blurry and the last thing I see is Matt’s bright blue eyes, concerned and beautiful. Then darkness.
